Question #1: Is there such a thing as magical ESP?

Refined Question #2: Is there such a thing as sensing things that we don't quite know how we did it?

#1 Maybe, I certainly think it's possible though don't actively believe in it.
#2 Definitely, this is called your subconscious mind. Literally a part of your mind that you are not aware of.

Anyway, I wiff the flop AAx and it's checked around. Turn is checked around. River, the opener bets $22, gets called and shows quad A's.

Though rare, this has happened before. I would love to know what I'm seeing/sensing, but I have no clue.
Hi Jay:

There's a statistical problem with what you're saying. And it's that you're forming your hypothesis after all the data is in and not before.

What you should do in the future is that when this happens again immediately form your hypothesis that something may be up with this hand. Then look at the results of the hand to see if there is any correlation. Notice that this is a lot different from looking at the hand results at the end and then thinking you may have noticed something earlier in the hand.

Best wishes,
Mason

If it wasn't such an unusual situation, I would agree. However, it is quite rare, something on the order of every 5-10,000 hours of play. And yes, when it happens something unusual is going on.

It has to be a tell, but I'll be dammed if I can figure it out.
