This thread is old but important and I don't think a bump will hurt anything.

I actually had a Rx for "Pro-V" at one point due to shift work related sleep disorder, although these days I just order it off the internet. I've used quite a bit, intermittently, over the last two or three years.

Finally had to quit using it at work because it makes me snarky and just generally irritating. I had to quit using it at the poker table as well; in that setting, I find that it makes me irritable and confrontational, and that's a good way to spew off your chips.

Oddly, I find that amphetamines like Adderall increase the quality of my play significantly. Maybe I just have ADD? I dunno. I can think of a couple of ways that a strongly dopaminergic drug might be good for certain personality types in this setting, as opposed to whatever the heck it is that Pro-V is doing in your noggin.

Don't go near it unless it's scripted by a psychiatrist for ADHD.

Long term side effects when abused will come back to haunt you. Easy for 20mg a day to go to 40 twice a day, then 60 three times a day.........

Personality changes and disorders are inevitable; not worth it for a bit of temporary alertness at the tables.

Go natural.

Yeah, I never did order the Modafinil the side effects scared me off. I did try Piracetam, but I personally think its sugar pills, they didn't do a thing.

Stuck with good old fashioned weed.

When I first regularly smoked weed back in 2003 that´s exactly the kind of stimulant effect it would have one me. I´d some some before going for 2 hours trail runs for example.

One time I had this whole essay for university written up, about 10 pages or so, and then the power went out at like 4am (a few hours before it was due) and I lost everything. I went outside, smoked a nice big bowl, then came back in and rewrote everything pretty much from memory.

For whatever reason, I eventually lost that effect. Whether it was me that changed or whether it was the strain that I had back then, I wish I could still get that effect. I prefer hyper stoned to lazy stoned anyday.
