How many online grinders on here actually find online poker fun? I think one of the great things about this game is the social interaction while you're at the tables. Do you think many people have switched from live to online (when the boom started) and then back to live as they find it more enjoyable? I know I enjoy live a lot more, but I also understand that live games aren't always available 24/7 in some places.

I live 2 hours away from one of the best poker rooms in the world (Playground Poker) and I'm considering moving closer in order to play live more often. I've decided that I don't enjoy online as much as I used to. It's just me sitting in my room in front of a screen isolated from the world. Obviously this is not the case for live games.

Just posting this to see if there are some who have made the switch from online to live and how did you like the change?

I've dabbled in online, but always been more of a live-first player for exactly the reason you mention: the reality is live-play is just way more fun and entertaining (and for certain players, higher + EV). certainly accessibility and convenience is a factor when considering what the best play is for making money, but for there's just a more social and engaging element to brick and mortar play. overall no contest for me, live is the way to go.

when I am losing online, it is fkn boring and tilting....when I am winning...it is the best feeling you can ever get into! You can scream all over your house or play naked...no way in live poker. I play live only bc players are there so fishy and I can win so much $$$ in big buy ins

i find the exact opposite, playing online i can mass table which creates a kind of unique high, also being basically anonymous to the oponnents i am scalping. the rare occasions i play live either at local casino or big event im ready to slit my wrists after a few hours. so many grimy humans, fat slobs, poor physical hygiene , the same horrible small talk "i woulda had the nut flush......if i called" , " oh yea, i woulda had trips" blah blah. same old meaningless chatter and its always been that way. i sometimes reflect on how i would have never gotten into poker if it werent for online, there is just 0 chance i would have gone pro back in the day if there was only casino play.

I think multi-tabling may partially due to people trying to make up for the deficient in sensory input of online poker compared to live poker. At least it was for me.

To put it another way, I find playing one table online to be not as exciting as playing one table live.

Never liked online, didn't give me the buzz, plus didn't trust it from Day 1 and was mocked for that stupid opinion. Plus it gave me carpal tunnel. Plus the speed of it, instead of helping me play good hands, seemed to feed kamikaze play for me. Give me live or give me nothing at all.

This probably isn't exactly the response you were looking for, but in my case, when I play live the only game I can play is LHE. I'm way too bankroll-challenged for anything else. My favorite game is PLO, and I've started dabbling in FLO8. I can *only* play those two games online so that I can play nickel and dime stakes. So, online is more fun for me because I can play my favorite games.

Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy LHE live, especially at low stakes because it's always an action game - 3 to 5 people seeing every flop and chasing every draw - leads to some really big pots when you do win! And the social aspect those rare times there are actually nice people at the tables can be a plus. In 4 years I can only remember 2 times that I had a true ash hole at my table and I remember plenty of times sitting around with nice people.

The main reason I hate limit games is exactly want u describe. 5 people seeing everyone flop. And there is nothing wrong being an a-hole at the table

Online all day for MTTs. Mainly because I can smoke weed while i play

I dont mind a bit of live cash though but i avoid live tournaments.
