ive been playing for a while, i use proper BRM. im overrolled for the stakes i play, losing money doesnt feel good but it doesnt hurt like it used to. im used to playing and i enjoy it.

but when i play i get a lot of adrenaline. sometimes when i first sit down at tables my hands actually shake slightly from this adrenaline. i think it comes from being in the presence of a group of people that all want to see me lose, and who i want to beat. i love playing for sure, but tonight i got home and thought i would ask the forum: does anyone else know what im talking about or feel this kind of sensation?

nick shulman said on joe ingrams podcast that when hes playing in bobbys room: 'im not having fun when i play but theres nowhere id rather be.' thats kind of how i feel. poker is kind of like a fight, and ultimately we are all alone when we play. we win alone or lose alone, and its an intense experience

How many years you been playing? try taking deep breaths at the table and listen to nice music w/ no lyrics

ive been playing seriously 18 months, not long. ive played considerable volume though, and even after all those hours i still feel this type of thing. many days i sit down and feel excited and great, but oftentimes i do feel this kind of nervous feeling like im about to be in a confrontation of some kind

ok well over time you will get more comfortable , don't worry about people wanting to see you lose, this is an individual game, focus on studying off table to build stable confidence, trust the process , try not to focus on things you can't control, have fun, it is a game after all

I think we all go through these things when we start , but after years of playing , you can look back and laugh at your former self and how bad you used to be; If I could go back in time to when I started my journey , I would focus on fundamentals, combinatorics, pot odds.. ect. ; I overlooked all of the basic concepts, these are so crucial and they will ease your anxiety bc you add structure to your game
