thats against logic

Hey Mr Logic:

WHERE THE HELL ARE THEY GOING TO GET A COMPUTER AND INTERNET ACCESS?

Or even the money to pay to use an internet cafe? Do you understand that there are countries where families fight over the rights to new garbage dumped at the landfill?

I think you really didn't put much thought into this before you make this post.

Those IT jobs give them internet access to do their $3 job. They would likely get fired if they decided to use their work computer for anything besides work.

Furthermore, not everyone knows that poker is a game of skill. Also, some people just might not be interested in something where they might have to lose money for months or even a year before they start to win cash. If it was easy to win money in poker, everyone would be doing it.

I rather play grumpy & tilty Americans then people in poor countries.

Take Vietnam for example. Some of the best players are from there.

that's just a generalization. there are solid players from all poker playing countries. Being from a poor country has no difference in a good or bad player.

Poker isnt for everybody...Not everybody study and then practice medicine, law or any other "high income" professions or are willing to take shots on investing money in a entrepeneur...Some people have it easier than us (Third world countries) to develop a carreer at poker?...YES¡!¡!, does that means we MUST take it? NO¡!¡ It depends on the person, not everyone understand the game and/or are willing to take it as seriously as a "TRUE" profession like a doctor or a lawyer...Thats just my two cents.

I mean only their motivation to learn poker should increase because poor....
and according my logic also the average skill of a pokerplayer should be better in contrast do german, usa..........

But they dont do it

iNNN, maybe you should go over there and inform them all that all they need to do is learn poker and all their problems will be solved. It doesn't matter that only 5% of players actually turn a profit playing this game. These poor, uneducated, and illiterate people will certainly be able to crush the tables!

Poor= they cannot afford to lose, so that would make them play better and less a bad player. It's common sense.

I'm not saying all poor countries would do as well as Viets. They're like the gambling gods. They do that almost for a living so they have an advantage..

it's pretty easy!
poor people do not have enough brain, that's why they are poor. When someone do not have brain, he'll suck at poker.
Moreover if someone is a dumbass, he'll be scared to risk his $3/hour and try to do something new. Fools will never even try to learn something new, they do not know even how to learn, they do not know what's this "learn".

Why is this posted in Psychology?

Seems more like BQ thread.

OP: Have you thought more then 2 seconds about this topic before making it?
Probably not, and for everyone's sake please just do.
This topic is useless. It's just like ' Why are homeless people unable to find a job?'

are you vietnamese by any chance? because considering their population they don't even have as many pros as Canada does with 1/3 of their population

Canada definetly has them beat in that aspect because Canada is a bigger country and poker is more popular here

Weren't we on a different subject and matter here? Ah yes, I was rambling about players from vietnam having a better overall roi and less tilty players then the rest of the world. blablabla. Wow, who really cares!

Lets just leave this for statistics to decide.

Because if all the poor people of the world tried to grind out NL2 no rich people would want to play with them and they'd be left playing on their own for 10 cents an hour... Think WoW gold farmers.

I’ve been thinking about this as well, in relations to whether or not and to what degree the games will get tougher the coming years.

It depends what you mean by “poor”. If you are talking about the very poorest, it is the issue with being illiterate, and not having internet and computer access.

But I think there are lots of people around the world who have the means and recourses to be good at poker, and who would be making much more from poker in the current state of the games than they would in normal jobs. For example in Brazil, where there is a thriving poker community, and much poverty. What I’ve thought is that there will be a large injection of new players coming in from poor backgrounds that will make the games tougher in the coming years.

Curious if other disagrees with that?

No one should play poker unless they are finacial secure in advance. Gambling your way out of poverty is one of the stupidest choises you can make, and would ruin the lives even more for people how are truly poor. Sure somone can get lucky and score big but close to everyone wouldn't.
