Done posting what i wanted to post, gl to all, waiting for info.

They are telling people that they removed 10/20 because of a small group of players using tactics which are not conducive with recreational poker play. All of you dip****s who camp at a million tables when the fish is on are the reason for this.

Global certainly could have found a better way to address this issue. But make no mistake, this is absolutely a reaction to the extreme bum hunting. You clowns totally screwed yourselves and the rest of us.
01-17-2019 , 12:48 PM
same thing will happen at 5/10, 3/6 etc..
01-17-2019 , 01:18 PM
Not enough players to support 2knl anyways. This is why you get bumhunting. They should cut everything down to 200NL - including 400NL and 600NL - then add 500NL like Ignition did. 500NL is pretty standard these days. Another feature that might be cool is to add the option to host private games for any stakes. This way the games can be more controlled but the players can still play high stakes if they get a group who actually want to play.

someone from global please get in touch with me if you want help dealing with bumhunting. I have some solutions.
01-17-2019 , 02:31 PM
is there any official post that its gone??
01-17-2019 , 03:01 PM
+1 on removing 400 and 600 and making it 500nl (2.5/5 or 2/5)

Just email citing small group of 10/20 players using tactics that isn’t conducive with recreational poker play.

If they want to combat predatory behavior they can remove the ability to use “sit out” feature for bum hunting. If they only allow people to sit out all tables on bb people cannot camp anymore. They will be forced to leave the game or sitout all of their tables. Removing 10/20 does nothing to combat the problem, the same behavior will occur at 1k NL unless they put some sort of preventative measures into place.
01-17-2019 , 03:47 PM
I watched that situation unfold. There were close to 30 tables. All they would have to do is pick people up at the normal(or faster) interval when sitting out and remove the exception to not pick people up when no hands are being dealt. Maybe just vaporize tables that get to that state.
Or address the behavior in a direct way to the people involved and general warning to everyone. It's not like those people, though they may be bloodthirsty jerks, broke any rules.
To just remove the game without warning is absurd, and especially to remove the PLO also where that behavior is much less common and reasonably well policed.
Something else is going on here. Very unprofessional to not have a rep comment publicly on the day of a major negative change like this.

It's highly unlikely they tell us the real reason. Could be certain players are winning/cashing out too much who knows.

Would be cool if a global rep could state whether this change is permanent/intended and what the reason was for it.
01-17-2019 , 05:14 PM
10/20 has been a little tough and competitive since you cant even buy in the site for more than 1k anyway so its mostly limited to players have moved up in stake..
global can't be that mad at people when people use a strategy that's incentived by the software by table camping. they should have changed the software if they wanted people to stop. you can insult people and get angry and everything but unless everyone unamously agrees not to do it then it would never have stopped without a software change.
glad you got chat banned donk4 your an inspiration in some ways but your also the most toxic player beside smack ems ive ever played with . much respect to all of you tho obv at 10/20.
I could see it being a good change too.
I understand if some of you get angry at this but its just undeniably true table camping was the optimal strategy at certain points. they have to change the software if they want anything different.

Is there a thread about this? I read an article saying you got banned (from paypal at least) because you were moving funds around in a fashion that looked like laundering.

I got banned from global at the same time as paypal, global never really told me why I figured it was because of Paypal banning me... they made good on that end though don't get me wrong global owed me and paid me even after paypal shut me down. They never unbanned me though, I asked them why and they would never give me a reason, I assume its the same reason they just took away 10/20, I was winning way too fast.

The decision to to remove 10/20 doesn't accomplish anything The reasoning given is that a select few players were opening tables and table blocking games in order to target a recreational player....something that players complained about over a year ago and nothing was done about it. So after all this time Global's response one that does nothing to solve the issue, and in fact, worsens the experience for recreational players.

Now that 10/20 has been removed, this same thing will happen at 5/10 instead. If you remove 5/10 as well, it'll happen at 3/6. So now what you've done is forced the best players to play a lower their skill level, which will have a compounding effect. The players who played exclusively 2k will move to 1k, 1k regs will be forced to move down to 600nl and 400nl, etc. Since more recreational players on average play lower, you're effectively forcing them to play against tougher competition and thus lose faster (which goes against your desire to make the site enjoyable for recreational players.

While it's not running 24/7, the bulk of 10/20 games was "reg battling". So now you miss out on that rake with no positive benefit.

Proposed Solutions:

1. Simply allow players to report other players for this behavior. They'd include (player, table/s, date / time / summary of abuse) 1st strike = 7 day ban, 2nd strike = 1 month ban, 3rd strike = permanent ban and funds confiscated. You'd have to establish clear policy on what is and isn't allowed, but you're get rid of the parasites in the game.

2. Don't spawn any new tables at a stake until every seat it taken at all other tables of that stake. This effectively kills HU battling, but gets rid of most bumhunting.

I don't have any confidence that reasoning will win out, but maybe we can all come up with a solution that is easy to implement (little to no development time).
