Charity Tourney For Harvey and Irma Charity Tourney For Harvey and Irma

What are people's thoughts on there being a charity tourney to help with hurricane relief in Texas and likely in Florida as well. I have no inside information, just throwing the idea out and see if people and Global like it.

Hi Splayaa,

Just so you know this is 100% due to your idea

Thanks!

That is fantastic to hear. I am registered and ready to play. Thank you for doing this.

Just so everyone knows you pay $10 to play and Global is donating $25 to the Red Cross. Can't see any negative EV here for sure. Turn my $10 into $25 for the Red Cross.

Almost makes me want to create duplicate accounts

Obviously just kidding on the last part, but all kidding aside, this is pretty cool. Well done Global!

That is a nice gesture.

Should be interesting to see how the naysayers will turn this around into a negative.

On 2+2 a community of love and forgiveness? Nah, they will only see the good and embrace it.

Hang on... I just woke up from the craziest dream.

Awesome idea splayaa and thank you Global for putting it together and adding the donation multiplier.

Global- Can you make it so this tournament is always at the top of the list? That way everyone will see that it exists.

I haven't seen a banner ad for it scroll in the tourney lobby and that would be good too.

Per your request: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/08/29/w...n.html?mcubz=0

Ya'll a bunch of racist only caring about white hurricanes. #Monsoon lives matter!

That is horrible what happened to those people. If they were trying to get into the US, then Hollywood would hold a telethon and if they were highly represented in voter blocs, one of the political parties would take interest.

Yeah a promo at the top would be awesome, and pinning it to the top of the lobby would be fantastic as well. +2!

This comment is so perfect in so many ways.

I think it's a great gesture and I'll play for sure. Thanks to GP for the $20 added donation that's way more than I expected. I was thinking more of a $10+$10 all rake donated but this is very generous from their end. I appreciate it as I'm sure many others will, thank you GP.

I think i got the $10+$10 from what PS used to do pre bf for environmental disasters, and that's also why it stood out. This is exponentially more generous and charitable than even the Scheinberg's used to offer iirc.

Tournament at the top of the list is a little trickier to do.

However, banner lobby that takes you automatically to the event has been done.

Thanks guys. Really want this to be a success as it will allow us to do more of these in the future. If you could share among your personal poker networks to ensure we get a good turnout we would be very appreciative!

that was a cool event, 151 runners x $25 = $3775 for the Hurricane victims, not bad for a new site with a generous mindset. Finished 3rd, missed a spot or 2 late, feel like I shoulda shipped it gg guys. Good fun format for a charity event, and if there were enough of them to offset the variance I'd fill my screen with them. Thanks GP! and ftr on the bubble i busted a guy with A2 vs 99, flopped trips, 2 on the turn to give me quads, river 9 to give the other fella a boat. I had him well covered but was another lol hand.

I cashed in the event myself, my Aces didn't hold up hand after the bubble burst, but another player busted with me and we went out 17th and 18th. All that to say, thank you to everyone who played. And a big thank you to Global who made this happen. Bravo!

I also remember them having an option to donate whatever you wanted from your account balance. Would you like to help me remember me more or correct me or just tell me what I'm wrong about without offering any more info? Not that it matters but im giving you a chance to post better lol.

Now you are remembering better. Allow me to enlighten you.

There was no option to donate whatever one wanted. PokerStars set different levels and one would choose the level. The exact level amounts escapes me since it has been 6 years, 4 months and 5 days since I have played on the site. When a player pledged at a level, his/her screen name was posted for all to view. The total amount donated by the players was quite large and PokerStars matched the player's donation.

Thank you for allowing me to better post. I always seek to improve, even at advanced age.

I would suggest to you to always review your writing, and correct errors. Please look over the second sentence of your text. I don't know how to help you to better remember yourself.

I used the word enlighten. It sounds a little snotty to me. I used it as an homage to Global Poker's customer support. They often use the word in e-mail correspondence. I think it might be an Australian thing. I certainly mean no disrespect.
