Ultimate Tilt Situation Ultimate Tilt Situation

Was 2 of 3 in a $20 MTT last night. $600 for 1st, $400 for 2nd, don't remember what the prize was for 3rd.

Anyway, mid-hand my account gets blocked. I send GP an email and they tell me I need to send the "Game Integrity Team" documents so my account can get verified.

I am currently locked out of my account. I wasn't far from 1st in chips at the time.

Any insight on how GP should rectify the situation? The whole ordeal was overwhelmingly frustrating.

Is there any update on this issue?

No...for a few reasons:

1. It took forever to get my account unblocked. Once my account was reactivated the thought of going thru the whole ordeal of trying to figure out a solution seemed too overwhelming and time consuming.

2. Somehow I ended up getting 2nd place which provided me with a bit of consolation. Still not sure how that happened?

Obviously someone busted (likely the short stack) before you blinded out. That was awful nice of them. Being shortest they couldn't wait you out though so they didn't have much choice but to go for it.

If this is legit they 100% should give you more $

It's one thing to lock you out so you can't play to verify documents, but to do it while you're playing pretty much set money on fire

I'm not sure about more $ in this specific case.

They certainly should not lock someone's account who is at the FT of a tournament 3 handed for this. Global security needs to address how to handle these things so people don't get locked out while active in $weeps contests.

IMO what's fair is if the tourney isn't in the money yet, refund the buy in, and if it is like in this case, compensate him via the value of an ICM chop at the point they locked him out. That's why I'm not sure about more money.... we don't know what the stack sizes were nor the 3rd place prize, but he was awarded $400 for 2nd place and his ICM chop amount was probably near that figure anyway, it may have even been a bit less depending on the stack distribution. Is it worth the hassle to pursue? If he blinded off in 3rd, yes probably... considering he got paid for 2nd place, I'm not so sure.

I agree with all of this and am not going to pursue anything additional in my case. However, my goal is for GP to be made aware of this so it doesn't happen to anyone ever again (especially me). I don't wish that tilt on anyone.
