I'd like your thoughts on whether or not you think this is actual poker or not. yes, I know some claim to be winning, but I would expect some to do just that. My understanding, which could be incorrect, is the winner of each hand is chosen at random and as long as that player does not fold he will get the best hand after the river. I would liken this to McDonald's Monopoly game. You may get the winning game piece, but if you throw it away you forfeit the prize. If you are chosen to get the best hand and fold then you forfeit the "prize".
Real poker or not?
Real.
In the forum, almost everyone believes Global Poker to be a poker site. It offers real poker, but that's an extra and no obligation to play. Global is a 'social poker' site. They offer contests, like on Facebook, games where you gain entry by seeing a certain amount of hands in gold coins, etc... You can win $weepsCash. Withdraw and life is good or we happen to have this poker game where you can use those $weepsCash dollars and use your skill to get more!
The idea of a random my selected winner is preposterous on the basis that the RNG does not have AI. It doesn't know who will be in the hand and for how long. The fact that you make decisions that affect the outcome pretty much puts the pre-selected winner idea to bed. Randomly chosen winners are in the contests. No purchase necessary is from those winnings, free 2 $weepsCash to open account, or the magic envelopes requesting more $weepsCash. It's really a 'but wait! There's more' aspect that gets us to play the $weepsCash games.
Since they are public and mgmt came from William Hill, along with certification or a pretty much industry standard RNG, Mersenne Twister, the odds of any shady stuff is microscopic. Why report to securities agencies if you are doing something slick? Just stay in the gray and life is good. Someone made a comment about it being like Zynga poker, well...how bout that! It's the same people, mostly, in the penny games and stuff. Zynga poker is a Facebook staple.
