i dont need a hud but it would be nice if we could download our hand histories just for tracking purposes like on GGpoker

Apologies if this has been asked before, I didn't see anything via search, but I noticed when I logged in today that there is an icon in the url window that asks if I want to "install" Global Poker. Is this a different way of playing than the standard browser-based way? Is it worth installing?
