I'm sorry you guys are going through this - but the writing was on the wall when people couldn't keep their mouth shut and not bite the hand that fed them.
I don't think this thread caused the problem. Here's my take on it:
1. When they changed the rules to include the insert card, there was a guy on this forum that started a thread about how he cashed out $80,000 over the course of a year sending envelopes. People begged him to delete it, but he wouldn't. He felt that people wouldn't commit to doing as many as he did because it would now be too much work with the insert card. He was wrong.
2. With the pandemic causing layoffs and economic uncertainty, people now had time and incentive to grind out insert cards and envelopes.
3. There is a guy who streams his Chumba sessions. He wanted to grow his channel and put out a "how to" video on Chumba's free sweeps process. Then he encouraged everyone to send as many as they could. Swamp them with envelopes! This guy and another channel each have about 3000 views on their free sweeps tutorial.
4. There is a guy on a private Facebook Chumba fan page named Chris. He sends 500-700 envelopes per week. He constantly posts pictures of stacks of envelopes he has completed that are ready for mailing. He posts screenshots of his withdrawals from envelope credits. He posts stories about all the stuff he buys and his vacations. Without fail people ask how they too can get started getting free sweeps. There are several others that do the same thing and it attracts constant attention. Everyone wants in on it. When Chris was confronted about abusing the system, he said that the company is rich and makes millions.
