I see a mega satellite has been put up along with several round-one satellites during the week. This is great! I wish the mega wasn't at the same time as the four Weekend Gold Coin Challenge tournaments but other than that, yay!

It's up for real and registerable now. 10k stack, 15 min levels, antes start at 75/150 level.

*Edit* blinds are actually 15 minutes for the first 4 levels, then 12 minutes thereafter. Weird.

Global just posted the a satellite into the Sunday major. Satellite starts in 2 hours and 15 minutes. So apparently it's all official.

For some reason they have yet to figure out proper structure for tournament that is fair and entertaining for the players. This specific tournament that you mentioned sounds pretty close to a real online MTT.

Was just looking at the mega satellite. The only one I see for now is Sunday, a bit more than an hour before the target event.

@Global, please add more mega sats. Saturday night mega would be nice. Friday night mega. Not the $3 sats to a sat, the $30 mega sats directly to the sunday major.

Also see they addressed the issue of multiple wins. First satellite win is must play, additional wins if already registered for the target event, is tickets. So if global sets up multiple mega sats and I win 2 seats, I play the first and get a "$218 Sunday Major ticket" for future use. Works for me.

I am glad to see they sectioned the tickets off into our inventory. And aren't doing T Dollars or something like that, I can't imagine the confusion that could take place with 3 currencies.

If you win a ticket. Do you have to play in the same week or can you play in the future as well?

It would have to be for future use, since the first entry you win is a must play (no ticket, they will enter you directly to the target event and you can not unregister) In the case of the sunday major it says $218 Sunday Major ticket, so it seems it would be for future use to just that specific Sunday event.

Hey guys,

Just to clarify, we had a fair bit of internal debate over late registration. Pretty much everyone in the business from the top down agrees that long late reg similar to what some other sites do is not player friendly and something that we don't want.

As a player, I agree, there is nothing more frustrating than having played a tournament for a few hours only to find out that there is still a couple of hours of late reg to go!

That being said, we were very excited to put on a true Sunday Deep Tourney and be able to offer satellites to these larger events, allowing rec players the chance to play for a fraction of the cost.

We wanted satellites running close to the start time and didn't want a situation where the sattelite may finish after the tournament had started but due to no late reg the players were unable to play.

With that in mind we decided to add one hour or late registration as a maximum to allow everyone who satellites into the tournament the opportunity to play.

As a business we have no interest in long late registration and no interest in re-entry tournaments. These clearly go against our recreational model.

The short late reg period doesn't as it allows players to satellite into these tournaments cheaply at the time they want to play without grossly extending the length of the tournament.

Hope that this helps to clarify our thought process!

Sounds like a good compromise to me Joey. Hopefully this tournament can get to a 100k weekly guarantee as it gains traction over the months

Something I noticed in the Sunday Teaser that I believe will apply to the Sunday Major as well. The number of people paid is determined by the number of entries when the tournament starts. Any late reg money will not increase the number of people paid. The Teaser ended up with 186 entries but only pays 18, and a min cash is almost 4x buyin.

60 min Late Reg is cool especially with major events. GP must be tired of paying the overlay

some other site did that, maybe FullFlush or BOL I cant remember. I remember its not rec player friendly at all, but awesome for the pros that have the ability to win em. That "feature" drastically increases the variance, and iirc it wound up paying ~8% of the field most of the time.

You must not actually play tournaments on Global. GP hasn't been overlaying anything, in fact they've been smoking most gtds hard.

Same problem, they auto regged me into next weeks 30k, I contacted them on FB for now... and ended up paying the full 218 to play. Hope they do some sort of reimbursement.
