So how soft are these tournaments, really? So how soft are these tournaments, really?

I've gotten back into online poker over the last few months after a hiatus since probably 2011. I've tried to deposit on another site that would allow me to use a HUD, but those efforts have been fruitless. It's been all Global since June.

In that time, between the rakeback/bonus schemes that pay in cash(!) and the bad players, I've turned $25 into $215.

What's weird about that is that I tried to grind up the bankroll using good, low-variance cash games. But I think I'm probably just a little better than breakeven in the 10NL games that are Global's cheapest option. (Global doesn't exactly HIDE your wins and losses, but if you don't record the numbers as they happen, reconstructing the history is a giant pain.) If not for the aforementioned rakeback promotions, cash play might even have me in the hole.

But my tournament ROI is just stupid. I finished third in an $11 tournament, and fourth two different times in a $3.3 tourney. Again, the records are a pain to reconstruct, but I'm pretty sure my ROI is over 100% to date.

Obviously, I'm not counting on that kind of number to persist. But I *am* wondering whether tourneys on Global are so soft (and the fields so small) that they're actually a more reliable way to pad my bankroll, or whether I just happened to luckbox the few tournaments I've played while having much more realistic luck at the cash tables.

My ROI on global is almost 400% and I want to go sit in the garage with the car running at the end of most nights. Get out while you can.

This, is exactly why they are a rec friendly site.

Global's tournament results are tracked on Sharkscope(if you opt in) however I noticed they missed one big cash and at least one other smaller cash on there from a year or so ago...though I don't mind my stats being padded the other way on there.

It is an oddly tilting place. That's for sure. Turning off the avatars helped some.

I know. I still haven't decided about whether I want to find out my ROI badly enough to opt in on sharkscope.

Way less soft than they used to be.

I play MTTs from $30 to $1k on three sites; ACR, Global, Ignition

From hardest to softest it goes something like this:

ACR>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Global>>>>>>Ignition

Global was crazy soft back when people could depo and w/d via PayPal. Today that's not an option, and Global is smaller and lacks the sportsbetting pool Ignition has, so the typical one-tabling fish stick to Iggy.

Edit: most of Global's tournaments are freezeouts, whereas all ACR MTTs have infinite rebuys and Ignition's have x number of rebuys (depending on tournament). The former helps the reg:fish ratio quite a bit but also leads to much smaller prizepools

Yeah, I expect that if I ever do manage to get money onto ACR, it will be much tougher to be profitable, even with a HUD. There are lots of players on Global who just casually bought some gold coins on a credit card. I would imagine there are very few US players who can casually deposit on ACR, which basically destroys recreational traffic.
