Most likely this. The ACR CEO said on stream it was common for the DDOSers to ask for a ransom from them. So this could just be them trying to show what they can do. This was on those streams where ACR kept getting DDOSED a few big series ago. Bovada had some problems like this over the years as well. Seems like global has crappier software then both of those sites so I imagine its easy to mess with.

Could even be another site hiring hackers to screw with Global because there getting bigger. Its the perfect time to do it.

If their player pool from the most prominent poker forum in the world stands together, then I think they will.

They aren't stupid. They are a new site with a burgeoning player pool.

To not repay losses for those in tournaments for example, would be monumentally stupid given the risk of it damaging their reputation especially if a group of players with connections in the poker world (i.e. a lot of us here) demand justice.

I'm still optimistic that it won't come to this, but if it does I'm gonna look to organize 2p2ers and fight, I've already made this clear in a PM to one of their reps on here.

And to be fair, I have nothing against the site and enjoy it. However, I've been around the block so to speak and know that they could decide to try pull a fast one.

This feels nothing like Black Friday. I'm playing on ACR right now and you could still be playing on multiple other sites. Black Friday the DOJ had a sign on all the pokerwebsites you couldnt play anywhere or go to the site. This feels like the other 10-20times American sites have had problems with DDOS during big tourney series over the past years.

I was in the 1K (last 3 tables) and the 4K, both tournaments are nowhere on the tournament lobby list after reconnecting.

i see a $30+3 6max 1k in the lobby, running, under all the games that are registering, no $4k of any kind though.
