Running colder than Ice! Running colder than Ice!

10-12-2019 , 12:31 PM
The new ring leader promotion has definitely opened the doors to an all new unique range of hands and I understand that it creates more variance but is anyone else experiencing some sick sick run bad!? I’m not talking about getting Kings in verse Aces, that’s super standard. But I have regs opening 33 for 25 BB’s and flopping sets vs me. I have plo hands with top set and Flush draw getting in with someone that has an overpair and they hitting their set with 1 freakin out! I’ve been a long time micro stakes grinder on global for a long time and with it being 20NL the money is really not a big deal, but I can’t imagine having these beats at 500nl and being down potentially multiple 5 figures in EV.

Is anyone experiencing the same run bad or is everyone just sun running against me? Lol

As with every other bad beat and variance story, the answer lies with sample size: if you can record 50K or so hands and still observe this trend, then we'll have something to talk about.

In the meantime, good luck out there. I hope the run-good catches up with you soon.

Thanks, I only go off of approximated numbers off of hours played and # of tables since global doesn’t allow any tracking software. It’s just brutal to watch 2 one-outers hit and lose like 6 of 6 flips in the matter of 20 minutes sometimes. : /

what sample size ? they dont allow transparency....... oops i mean hand histories

But yeah OP im running so incredibly bad it feels so much worse and longer without hand histories. but a good metric is the worse the beats the worse the players or...... your getting scammed but who the **** knows. thanks global!!.

If I've said it once, I've said it ten billion times:

Never risk any money playing online poker that will cause financial hardship and/or psychological angst if the pokeroom abruptly shuts down tomorrow and runs away with all your monies.

I personally do not believe that Global is a scam, but if I wake up tomorrow and find that Global has vanished into the digital mist, I 'll find some other place to waste my time and money.

I punted off $600 last night.
Nothing would connect, or if I had a marginal hand the pre-flop was 20x BB. I won't play weekend nights anymore, the people that login are a severe annoyance to play with IMO.

It's all part of the game.

Back when i could play on Global I would use those sessions as highly valuable note taking. Detailed notes and even copy/paste some of the hands from that player into the note box. You'd be surprised how much they can pay off later.

Back when i could play. ;(

I’m not freakin kidding, believe it or not I’m a crusher at the small stakes, and I’ve been getting destroyed to cooler (standard all ins) and somehow the opponent has slightly better ever since this rake race started. Now it has me wondering

I’m not getting completely oblivorated but still down like 20 buy ins in a week and a half

Hey are u croosy? If so respect u are fun to battle with! Anyways also have experienced some of the sickest runs ever on global not just during the fans race tho..have played millions of hands on the site (mainly small stakes) and have noticed really strange patterns w/ variance-just like insanely unlikely **** math wise. Hope it turns around for ya GL

yeah i think i broke that cold streak for you last night LOL

lol @ being down 20BI and thinking something is weird. you should have 20BI downswings every month. it's statistically insignificant.

Ummmmmmm......oh.

I have been experiencing the same "cold as Ice" problem for the last 20 days I consistently lose with the best hand at crucial moments in SNG's and tournaments with many ridiculously improbable runouts. I looked at the stats of many other players that run profitably and out of 15 players, only 3 continue to run profitably. I will take a few more stabs at it but my gut feeling is to quit while I am still ahead and stop sending good money after bad.

I don't trust the RNG on this site one bit. Or really any other at this point. I'm starting to believe in player accounts being profiled and categorized. Any time I'm at a stake where it's obvious I'm crushing and can keep doing so, I'm just dealt nothing for thousands, upon thousands, upon thousands of hands. Repeatedly being tempted with what will obviously turn into coolers. The worst players at the tables always have 500-600 BB's, are playing like 83/0/0, and keep flopping absolute monsters. I mean, I've just spent so much time in these games and just keep seeing the same thing (for years) that I can't believe these are legitimate games anymore.

As much as I love playing online poker, I'm seriously contemplating packing it in at this point. It's only going to get worse with bots, collusion, rigged rngs, house players, etc. This is a total, absolute waste of time and there's so little money in it here in 2019 - unless you have a large amount to put into it upfront - that it's not worth the effort anymore. Streaming other games will net someone more money over time than even bothering with online poker anymore.

If you do not trust the site, then please STOP PLAYING ON GLOBAL AND CASH OUT AT ONCE!

20 BI downswings standard? If that's truly the case in today's games, this will never be a popular venue again. Very, very few people are going to put up with that online and continue to play.

No, I and anyone else with an IQ over 80 is good enough to beat the stakes I play. When I start beating them, I'm dealt nothing playable for weeks straight. That has nothing to do with skill - that's an obvious case of player profiling as has been detailed in other threads by former employees of online poker sites.

Hey: You don't believe in it and I and many others do. We'll just have to agree to disagree. This is a dead venue and totally unprofitable. Want to sit at home and make 20k a year? Maybe online poker is for you. Want to actually live a life and earn a livable income? Best to not play online poker lol. It's that simple.

same here my friend

This week playing NL20 6hours a day(6 tables) I got these coolers:

full house over quads - 3 times
Straight over straight - 3times (2 times today)
Nut flush over full house - 2 times

How is this possible ? All these coolers in less than 18 hours... its ridiculous.. And all that most likely because my cashout is pending...

This isn't really the forum for blogs, and since this is turning into a duplicate of the RNG thread, time to lock it up.

Best of luck, OP!
