I am brand new at Global, but I am not new to poker. I play hold'em—preferably limit. I don't see any limit hold'em at Global. That leaves me with NL cash and sit n goes. Which are the softest? I will start with either micro or low limits, so winning a lot of money is not really my goal. But I'd like to build my $40 starting stake into a bankroll of at $100, and I'm willing to do this slowly. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

I haven't played the lowest limit SNGs on Global, but have played a number at the pretty low limits. If you aren't used to NL, it might take a little while to get used to it, but the fields are definitely very soft. This is also true for the lowest levels of NL cash. So my recommendation is to just try them out and see what you like.

You could grind the freerolls with 25 cent rebuys, a couple days of rungood and you would be at your $100.

Microstakes SNG's are pretty soft, mid stakes are soft too but not as soft. Just stay away from hyper turbos those are a bingo game.

I think any game or game type you pick you will do just fine. You're clearly a patient person, which will come in handy, as every game in your price range is SOFT. Anywhere you toss a rock on global is soft, as most people are really just looking for a little action. You'll be fine wherever you settle. Good luck!

Pretty much this. Whatever path you choose should be fine, as long as you're okay with a little short term variance (sngs are kind of turbo-like, cash games I mean sometimes you lose to K3o in a preflop all-in). Long term with patience nothing to worry about really.

There are also daily freerolls, a weekly one (x amount of cash game hands), and a Monday newsletter kind of freeroll to give your roll a little juice if needed.

It is possible, though NL 4 is no longer an option. My initial deposit was $30(and I got a $10 bonus), now I have over $1k. Mostly on $1 SnGs early on.

Make sure you claim your daily bonus, it is worth a couple dollars a week, something that will greatly help a $40 bankroll. I just found out about it, had I known it earlier, I think I could have built my bankroll a bit faster.
