At least for one week. It even has me inspired to grind hard this week. But I can't even imagine how jard the competition will be. I've played goldcoin ring games for 10 hours a day nad barely scratched the top 10, granted at least people are more loosey-goosey and go all in far more often with gold coins.

Pretty peculiar given the sites history. These prizes will almost certainly be won by high volume winning regs. Flat rake back or deposit bonuses would put more money in the accounts of net depositors who keep games running.

I agree, I'm afraid this promo is the beginning of the end of the rec-friendly platform they strive so hard to maintain.

I agree it is a bit strange it doesn't align with their platform but I personally view it more as an olive branch to the rake complainers rather than a beginning of the end of their intentions as a company.

Lol this is the most dissapointing promotion ever for a fish like me. I've been 4 tabling for the entire hour and I'm in like 250th place. It would take me 8 hours to get to what the top guys have gotten in 1 hour. I can't believe I honestly thought I'd have a chance to be in the top 5 at any point.

The numbers at the top are damn impressive. 3,500 BB won in 1 hour? I've frequently had fun with the goldcoin play money going all in literally every hand and that's the only way I could score that much (of course at a massive -EV). These guys are absolutely killing it

I hope they have a updated leaderboard to see your rankings but i bet they wont since they want everyone to keep on playing. They should do one for sngs as well!

I don't think their intentions as a company have changed. I think this type of promotion may have consequences they haven't anticipated (like being attractive to high volume regs and bots).

Today is the day my poker dreams died. The top 4 leaders are well on their way to all surpass 50,000 BB. Even if this is all at the lowest allowable stakes of .1/.2 means these guys are raking in $10,000, a full 5,000 all ins won... in a single 24 hour time frame. Nearly 3.5 all ins won per minute assuming they are playing literally all day long.

It's truly laughable that I thought I could get on the top 20 by doing my idea of "grinding" 4 tables for 10-14 hours a day. These guys are truly in another league!

I will stick to the negative rake 11¢ tourneys and leave cash games to these superhumans.

Yeah, there's no chance for any regular who can't play 12+ tables 16+ hours a day. And recreational players, EL OH EL. Forgetaboutit.

There could be a silver lining here. Since this promotion (which, thank God, is only slated for 2 weeks) will attract any bot accounts like moths to a flame, it will give global's security team a priority list of accounts to review for bot-like activity.

This promotional is awful. Handing out 85k to like 3 people on site who play 16 tables all day is sooooo bad.

They could have just promoted free 1-3% rakeback for 2 weeks to everyone and guess what..everyone wins!

Just doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

Definitely goes against the rec player model lol. Maybe they just wanted to reward some regs for once. Albeit at the expense of the microstakes ecosystem. There were 100 and 200NL regs playing 20-30 tables of 20NL this morning lol. Put a table cap on it ffs.

A good promo for both regs and recs would be some sort of hourly high hand promotion like you see in live poker rooms. You could have different $ amounts for each stake. That way all parties involved have an equal chance of winning. There is 0% chance a non pro makes any money from the race they have running currently.
