Poor start for the series Poor start for the series

Both tournaments from yesterday’s summer series overlay, should this be concerning for future tournament events? I understand global poker is a business and if the business isn’t making any profit then it’s not good for us; the players. We all asked for bigger gtd tournaments so let’s all try and make this series a successful one, for both the business and the players!

I use to be a reg on GP, quit cold turkey 2 weeks ago and my nights are more relaxing than ever. Went to Hard Rock Tampa Saturday, sat down with $200 for 1/2 PLO, played for 5 hours, down to 65 at times, up to $550 at times, left with $400. Humble brag? No. Exponentially more relaxing than online? Yes.

Point is, now that casinos are opening back up, GP is in my rear view and perhaps it is for others also.

The first event only overlayed by 4 players or 1.6% so they still made plenty of money on the event. Overlay was higher in the Turbo but they're still making a lot of money running these events, even if they continue to overlay by the same amounts (which I doubt they will). I don't think they had any satellites to the Turbo so they may add them after a few more days of results.

We aimed big for this series; and that means there is going to be overlays.

If it hits... we've created something players like, if it misses... we've invested in those who came to support us. Win win for players IMO.

What's the point in big events if you don't sweat 'em a little?

Both sides have to be a little nervous to make a good business deal.

I like what you guys are doing and appreciate the shot. I think this is the best way to grow your actual player pool and retain is to eat a little overlay in the short term by keep moving guarantees up gradually to numbers that draw players and those players will stay grinding on the site. IMO for tourneys its the only way, to have series with good guarantees and try to make the dailies worth grinding by incentivizing short term prize pools for healthy big long term prize pools.

Pls keep up all the positives coming from global and add snych breaKs!!

Why are all the tournaments 218 or 33r? The rattlesnake was excellent with the mixed levels of buyins. Why not put something in the middle? a few $55 or $10-20r?

Overlays? Big Guarantees? I don't see the problem...

The Rattlesnake, Goat, Grizzly, Eagle have a wide variety of buyins. The Home and Summer Series are designed for a bigger-buyin players.

If they are designed to attract regs and not recs, why not at least have those tournaments go on break at 55 past like every other tournament on every other site?

And have structures where you don't start with 700 BB and have an average BB of 12 in the money... lol site is a joke

Online poker is down everywhere. The pandemic rush is over and the unemployment rates aren't helping.

Huge scam in the 15k turbo super bounty it was supposed to be 5 min blinds was 10. Saved them thousands in overlay. One of progressive bounty tourneys never had antes
06-28-2020 , 12:05 AM
ya theyre really sticking it to their customers avoiding those overlays

Main point is though it takes about 2.5 hrs longer to ship a regular speed than a turbo especially when tomorrow is Sunday it is not good to mess with people's sleep schedule like that.

Strange way to start this "main point", with the words "Huge scam" LOL

youve never shipped any 215 so i wouldnt worry about it if i were you. and oh no, the tourney was 4.5 hours instead of 3. Crawl back into your hole of losing.

Crazy how no regs ever FT or win these Sunday events.

I’d disagree with that. There were two regs at FT yesterday. I’ve won the Scrimmage before, and I regularly see other cash and tourney regs FT or make deep runs. Penta was a 4/8 20bb reg (may play other games as well but I don’t see him at 200nl or higher) and he won Scrimmage a few weeks ago and FT the next week. Point being, it happens a lot.

ppl complain about too many regs
ppl complain not enough regs win

We have a robust and enthusiastic MTT reg community, and I love it. These guys all know each other from the Sunday grind, reminds me of the pre-boom days.
