If you could recommend one poker book to someone who wants to dramatically improve their game, which book would you recommend and why?

This is a trap. You’ll ban anyone who answers and say it’s a tool that gives them an edge over competition.

I was thinking something similar when they started the thread "tell us your Global username" to link what we post here with their poker site.

Haha yes! But really, I know it's all in good fun... I'm a conspiracy theorist so it is just in my nature to be suspicious.

Lol. I understand. I'm asking for myself because I really want to improve my game this year. I'm sick of finishing at the bottom of the office poker tournament.

It's a pretty thick (and dense) book, but "the grinder's manual" if you want to seriously improve. It basically goes over everything you need to know to be decent at poker...if you read and learn to apply it, you'd almost definitely be one of the best players in your office

Mathematics of Poker by Bill Chen. It is pretty much the bible when it comes to the theory and mathematics of poker (any game). Caveat being that it is a difficult read due to all the math so to absorb the information you will have to read it several times.

Sklansky Theory of Poker is the only poker book anyone would need to read if you could only read one book.

Bonuses would be Harrington on Hold Em for tournament players or anything by Jonathon Little for strategy against different playing styles.
