Playing from a different modem at same location Playing from a different modem at same location

I've seen stories of people connecting from a different source as usual and having issues so I wanted to ask: I've been playing from the same location and modem for ages. That modem has to now be swapped out after a power surge the other day, but I do have another connection upstairs that I can connect to wirelessly. Is that ok on these us facing poker sites? Same address/location just a different modem than I usually use. Thanks.

I dont see why that'd be a problem if it were me i'd not be worried about it. Quite the opposite actually, I'd be stoked I had wifi available in the meanwhile!

It might trigger a security review. No harm email support in advance and ask them to have it noted on your account.

Thanks. I never wound up playing yesterday and I'm actually on my way to swap the old modem for a new one in just a bit here. This way, it's just a non issue. Hopefully this new modem works and there's nothing wrong with the line.

An Email or opening up a ticket will be no help. They always reply with a predetermined response based on a keyword you used. If this guy tells them he switched "modems" and please note it on his account, the reply will be..."Were sorry you are having this problem. We have checked our system and have determined the problem is not on our end." Thank you for contacting us.

I received an email for the sweeps bonus when you purchase a package. I tried to buy a package but it said my CC did not go through. I tried again and it worked that time however the first attempt did in fact go through. I opened up a ticket to let them know I got the bonus 2 times because I know you can use it only one time (so my acct. would not be locked or whatever) and the reply was..."We are sorry you are having this issue. Please try again at a later time to purchase a gold coin package."

The support ticket message I left was straight and to the point but they just gave a pre-canned response to my keyword. Most likely "tried to purchase a package."

This has happened several times with different issues. They did not read my message, just sent a reply that did not help. Very frustrating.

I hear you, and appreciate this is very frustrating. We are putting a lot of effort into training and retraining (and updating the training) for our support staff.

In the end, I did get the hardwired modem back up and running before playing again so this became a non issue. It would still be nice to get a hard answer on something like this, though. You wouldn't think there would be a problem with it but it can't hurt to be safe.

Why is this even a thread lol

PS Netgear makes the worst modems

I guess this is a good time to ask a loosely similar question. I don't have the most stable internet connection, so what I do when playing is simultaneously connect to my home and phone internet, the latter serving as a backup. My laptop wouldn't actually use the phone connection unless the home one were to drop. If that were to happen, my IP would change in the middle of a session/hand. Would that be considered shady?

Comparing their support staff to robots is offensive to robots. (And yes, of course AI can be trained/train itself).
