I think OP is getting the short end of the stick, with GP and his choice of friends.

GP doesn't have to prove his guilt. He has to prove his innocence. And the proof they want is verification of your friend's existence. It's their game. So give it to them.

On a different note, how can you qualify this other person as "a friend?"

When the defendant walks up to the judge and says "I did nothing wrong", is the judge supposed to say "Okay, sounds good to me, you must be innocent, let's see the next case please."

------------------------

What is your friend's reasoning for not wanting to verify his account?

Is it because:

a.) He doesn't want to provide his personal information to an outside place?
b.) He has no money in his account, and doesn't care?
c.) He doesn't like you, and is laughing at this thread?
d.) Some other reason?

If the problem is A, then I wonder how he was planning on getting his winnings from the site if he won money when you guys were playing.

If the problem is B, then you can remind him that this will help you get this situation solved and help you get your money. If he still says no, then in my opinion, you should offer him 10% of the withdrawal. He gets some money for doing effectively nothing, and you have 90% more of the withdrawal than you would have by not doing that.

If the problem is C, then

If you really wanted your funds, and you know that there is something you can do in order to get them, I am genuinely curious as to why that hasn't happened yet.

Do you understand that confirming the second account that was used at the same IP address would (generally) prove that you did NOT collude or cheat?

Honestly, it came up as a red flag because there were two accounts coming from the same IP address, and you are effectively asking them to "take your word for it" instead of providing evidence? Can you understand why this looks funny?

Well in that case, there would be a prosecutor that tries to prove the defendant's guilt. If he can't, then yes, next case.

I can understand that if Global had no other info than "there were 2 accounts playing from 1 ip" then yes it would look funny, but they have literally all the evidence they need. They have a record of every hand both of us have ever played, login times/ locations, every sesh, even play style if they want to analyze that deeply, etc...

...the only evidence they don't have is the verification documents of the person playing the second account. Without that (and especially, after the person is not able to provide that when they are asked), it's curious to think who is the one clicking the buttons behind each computer.

I also noticed that you missed the question that I had asked you...about why specifically your friend won't just send his verification documents in, especially since he knows that this is the only thing stopping you from receiving your money. I'll leave the quote below as a reference:

lol, no reason to be a jerk to me.

I did read it. I wonder what your "friend's" plan was if he had won a tourney and wanted to try to withdraw.

I'm done with this thread now. Good luck yelling at the wall, hoping the site will ignore a standard security risk and the industry-standard protocol, and pay you out

"Hey, we think there's a chance you might be cheating so we're going to play it safe and take all of your money."

"Shouldn't it be on you have to prove that I was cheating since you know, you already stole all my money?"

"No lol"

Why are you still complaining? The title you created tells you what the problem is. "Choose friends wisely!".

Not sure if trolling, but that wasn't the title I created, it was changed by Global mods. Originally was:

"WARNING: Played at friends house, Global won't pay out, accusing me of multi accounting"

Re: Played with friend on same IP at same time. He refuses to verify. Choose friends wisely!

I get both sides here. If Global doesn’t take a stand, it allows them to have a ton of accounts opened that anyone can say is friends and therefore they open themselves up to exposure by never verifying these accounts. On the other hand, I see OPs point in that he plays at a friends house and maybe the friend truly doesn’t care and Global is forcing him to get his friend to send in ID etc and friend could care less. This is slightly concerning, especially if you travel and play at another house and don’t know who’s got Global accounts etc (think AirBnB WiFi etc).

I think proper resolution here is for Global to look and see if these accounts ever played at same table or if they played at same tables when they were both on same IP. I’d imagine this wouldn’t be an issue if both accounts were simply verified.

Did they literally accuse you of multi-accounting, or did they merely request info from your friend to verify that you weren't multi-accounting. If the latter, then your original thread title was actually a lie.

Been a little while since I first responded to your post.

To elaborate on the following:

Quote:
4. Customers are only allowed to register one account with Global Poker. If discovered that multiple accounts have been registered by a customer, VGW reserves the right to terminate all such accounts at its discretion.
As far as Global Poker knows, you "may" have multiple accounts. They asked you to verify your account, which you did. Your "friend" was also asked to verify their account and they never did. Without verification of the second account it's not clear to Global Poker whether that is a second account of yours or another persons. Until they receive verification of that second account, or a story they are willing to accept, it is their right to suspend your account.

My first cashout months ago was delayed because they wanted a second account verified that also played on the same IP address I had. It was discovered that that account, along with I imagine others since then, were from a public wifi connection. The point is, we exchanged several emails to come to that conclusion and once it was determined the other account was from an IP address associated with public wifi I was able to withdraw. If your story is true, and you can convince them of that, then I don't see why there would be an issue. The fact that you have failed to convince them that you played with a "friend" and you're still getting screwed seems fishy to me.

Moral of the story is don't play at friends house. How much money you have locked? Tell your friend to send in his documents.

Yeah, I think there is more to this story than meets the eye, such as OP having numerous accounts, playing at the same table as other accounts, or something else. Otherwise seems pretty straightforward for Global to see you never played together and to move on with your request.

the instant fallback plan seems to be "flame op" or "flame new guy". he isn't really being unreasonable. why not gut him a little slack. I DO think global owes a public explanation. even if it is "we have made a decision to not give his $" or whatever it is. them being silent here AND changing the thread title isn't right imo. global often seems to want to get by doing as little as possible for their clientele (ie the login issue ppl had, the software/technical problems, this, the rakeback). I'm not going to just fanboy global due to good cashouts and good email support. they also have a track record imo at this point of hiccups.

of course the op could be lying, but we don't know that. he doesn't deserve to be flamed. lets just try to make the internet a little better place, could we?
