Donked it away playing .02/.04PLO pretty quick, and decided to buy more gold coins, but got refused like other people in this thread. It was a little frustrating, but whatever, it was time for bed anyways.
Two days later I am paying to get my car inspected, and my card gets refused. I noticed that at the car dealership, the card swiper said "WorldPay" on the side of it. I went to go get some cash, because my card should be good. Nope. Turns out it had been blocked for suspected fraudulent activity.
Who knows though, maybe they were suspicious about my BlueApron purchases.
Agreed it doesn't prove anything, and I also believe you are telling the truth.
One clarifying question I have is was the terminal a WorldPay terminal or was that the disapproval reason it gave? It sounds like you are saying it was a WorldPay terminal. Not sure it matters either way, more just curious.
Because with that said, I can totally believe after you made a $10 purchase with a company your credit card company has never seen you work with before, and isn't well known to them for other purchases, flags got thrown.
Keep in mind that our credit card companies are on the hook for fraudulent activity, so they tend to be very liberal with the ban hammer. And I for one, don't blame them.
What I wish the CC companies would do, is when this happens, communicate with their client as much as possible their account has been flagged. That way if I am the one who got it flagged because I bought two tanks of gas within 20 mins of each other (try it just for fun) or if something nefarious is happening, shouldn't I need to know? I think I would want to know that information.
And with the overall point being, yeah I miss PayPal too.
