Just got an email saying GP was going to be adding WorldPay as a cashier option.

Any shot this opens the door for ROW players to get in on the action?

Was hoping this new payment option would be btc :/

No offense meant to ROW players, but man I hope not. That just opens the door for the Eastern European bot rings to decimate the site (and is 100% anti rec friendly).

Not good if true. PayPal has probably had enough shenanigans with “sweepstakes poker”.

Also, beware strange emails with links to strange places....

gg if true. this opens the floodgates for multi-accounters and bots that have killed the games on every other site

They still haven't had enough of the "shenanigans" with sweepstakes casino (Chumba) which has been around and using paypal for a lot longer than Global Poker, so not sure why you would think that's changed now.

Good advice about strange emails and links obv. This email was informational with no links though.

WorldPay has US only options so no need to jump to conclusions about ROW

In January 2018, Vantiv acquired London-based Worldpay for $10 billion. Worldpay.com seems to only be for merchants wanting a payment processor to accept credit card payments. There was nowhere for me to sign up unless I was a merchant. Seems like you will not need an account to receive money, you just use CC to deposit on Global.
...But what do I know

I browsed the site and thought I saw options for Spain, France and China as well.

EDIT: maybe that’s just languages. Seems like they do serve UK customers tho.

Considering the site is called worldpay it would be very odd if they only serviced USA

I mean, it's not that odd when you consider we're playing on "Global" Poker.

Yep Worldpay is coming!

We are doing some final tweaks at the moment and expect it to be live soon.

One of the constant pieces of feedback we get from players is around payment choice. We are happy to be able to provide that through the addition of Worldpay to our existing payment options.

Regarding btc, all I can say is that we are currently exploring a host of different payment options and there are a few options on the table. :-)

Can you confirm PayPal is still going to be a viable option going forward?

Does this mean players from other countries will be able to play?
06-01-2018 , 06:42 PM
To answer both questions, all we are doing is adding a new payment provider. There are no other changes planned with this announcement.

Please answer Tron's question. Will this allow players from other countries to play? Poker players are particularly concerned about countries east of Germany, where bot rings and multi-account colluders are most prevalent.

If they ever do this site will become WPN network without rakeback.

How long can you withdraw off paypal? or is that not effected
06-02-2018 , 08:20 AM
Global has always allowed ROW players but they had no way of cashing out. Now they presumably will.
