Yeah but had Global opted for card/worldpay from the start, people wouldn't be complaining. A smooth transition would have been better than an abrupt one, but still, what is so great about PayPal anyway / what big difference does it make how you pay? The only differences I see are positives - I just added funds to my GP account within minutes, whereas with PayPal it would have taken a few days.
I don't think your Mexican/Chinese food analogy applies here. Global didn't replace Poker with Bingo. It's more like a grocery store deciding to stop accepting checks. The reaction to that would likely be *shrug* and you'd pull out your credit card. (Granted, the store wouldn't be all like, "You've been specially chosen to stop using checks! Congratulations!")

Why, out of curiosity? And how does that work? Do you keep all your money in piles of cash? Do you cash checks at those ghetto check-cashing places and pay a 10% or more fee? If you use PayPal without a bank account, do you have to use one of those high-fee debit cards?

Of course not. Likewise, their parting ways with PayPal doesn't mean it's illegal. Global is legal because of a loophole in the law, and the loophole hasn't been closed (except in the state of WA, apparently).

Agree. My card statement says "GP Gold Coins".
