Note taking Note taking

Hi all,

I started playing online again and noticed that my previous notes are terrible. Does anyone have a good system for note taking on Anon games with no hud?

I like to here what type of notes players take on other players. a lot of my notes are SS stats, I will mark reg players I see or come across, and sometimes what they may jam short stacked.

I keep my notes brief but to the point with some acronyms like TAG(tight aggressive), LAG(loose aggressive), CS(calling station), ect.. I will make a note of someone who likes to donk shove and other bad/exploitable traits if I spot them. I have a lot of people I just write idiot if they just play bad. I will make a note of good players also(super important).

I'm just getting back into online poker after a long hiatus after black Friday so my note taking and overall skills are a bit rusty. I never was a fan of HUDs either but if I suspect someone is using one I will make a note.

Unfortunately I am restricted to playing on my cellphone because I am going through a messy divorce and the ex wife took the computer and most my money

I've slowly developed a notation that's useful for Global since they cap you at so many characters. I try to log noteworrthy out of the ordinary plays, and also SSC results if available. I use yellow for arbitrary notes, red for especially tight notes, and green for people who do something really stupid at least once, but over time I've tried to only use green when SS has also confirmed terrible results over a decent sample size, or until they do something really stupid 3 separate times. I also use " ... " and the return key to easily separate different notes at a glance, although you have to actually open the notes to see the carriage returns. Could prob utilize the colors better but when I first started I just did red means (sort of) "stop", green means (sort of) "go", and yellow just kind of means "read me".

So one of my notes might look something like this (just using random examples):

SSC FISH, 5000, 2000MT
...oL 55 E1, 14BB nAnt, clln BB NIT 12BB Shv
...oS T7s CO, 11BB nAnt
...3Shv 18BB vs E3 oR + HJ flt, btn, 13BBeff
...3Shv 12BB vs o4x, SB, 22
...BBdef J3 vs E3 o3x, chkD on 37748
...HBLtard, general CS

I'm sure there are still spots that can be streamlined better but I've slowly trimmed ways of saying the same thing until it's now something like this. I always intended to go back and combine ones with enough info into a bigger picture, like what % of hands they might shove in a certain spot, but easier said than done. But it's not so bad as it is. Easy for me to quickly read.

Just realized I forgot to translate but it's probably not too hard to figure out. I'll let you have fun with it but I'll tell you what's what if you ask.
