Yeah, I agree. I thought this book was pretty bad. Would never recommend it to anyone I am hoping success for.

if its not helping you, i can only ask, did you read the whole thing? or did you skim and skip any parts of it? the 'boring' part is the most important part, i can certainly see how easy it would be for players with mental game issues to skip the boring parts. Did you make any effort at all to implement the strategies and exercises laid out in the book?

for me, beyond the exercises laid out in the book specifically, one of the more useful applications of the book is at the end of any given session where youre feeling strongly emotional one way or the other, flip to the part of the book that relates to the way youre feeling in that moment and it may refer you to some other part of the book that will help you get to the bottom of why youre feeling that way and what the more logical thought process is.

unless you have some better strategy for conquering your addiction for destroying your property, then rejecting a strategy which has clearly helped a lot of people seems -EV

Been getting crushed! On the downside of variance, but also seems like an influx of solid regs on the site; tourneys and cash. Oh well, keep a positive mindset and continue to improve.

38/540+ in the $3,500gtd GPC Grizzly 05-L.

One of those tournaments where I was near the back most of the way. Will I ever reach another ft?!? Need a bink!

Wat?

13/170 in the 1,500gtd. Lost typical race.. I feel like it’s only a matter of time before I take this one down.

Also, requested a cash out last week and received 3 days after verification. Verification process took 2 days.

Well done, Global.

???

Obviously you've never cashed out from a site before. It's most definitely "real money".

6/80 in the 100$gtd... I torched it at the end.

He had been trying to cash out for weeks. Global seemed to be giving him the runaround. Don't know if he got his money yet.

Min cash 17/108 in the 400$gtd hyper... probably shouldn’t be playing hypers, though.

The more I learn, the more I realize how vast and complex this game we all love to play is.

Debating on taking a shot at the wsopc stop this weekend in Tunica. Can pull out some “liferoll” money for the 400$ buy ins; as my poker bankroll is obviously not suited for 400$ tournaments

I believe the experience could be beneficial.
How has the Upswing MTT course been working for you? I recently subbed to their poker lab and it's been Extremely helpful. I've been thinking of getting the MTT course, since that's what I primarily play.

I was referencing the mtt module in the base subscription to the poker lab. That portion has been extremely helpful, and very well put together. However, I’ve yet to fork up the 1000$? To buy the mtt lab additive. Hopefully after a bink or 2

2/58 in a 100gtd. 4/117 in the 250gtd turbo. So close but yet so far to the first W

Going deep in the GPC 25-M 7,500gtd at the moment. Just lost a race, currently 19/52 out of 259 runners. 42 cash.

9/259 in The 7,500gtd. Biggest cash to date but hurts to be that close to some real money and call off in a spot when I could have folded..... ugh, oh well. Bitter/sweet

6/86 in a 250gtd. Was 1/6 then lost 2 flips. Been running good the last couple days, went back to cash for a bit and am up 10 buy ins at 20nl in the last 1k hands.

My trouble in the past has been when variance is on my side, I’ve had issues with getting the “big head” and feeling like nothing can go wrong. Poker is a beautiful game that WILL humble you quickly if you have said attitude. Keeping my head down, respecting my opponents, and trying to improve daily. GL everyone

Been away from Global for awhile. Sucked into the PPPoker thing.

However, little free money in the account ty Gp, fired 3 tournaments yesterday 5$ rebuy 1k, 10$ 1,500$, and 3$ 250gtd and cashed all 3! Min cashed the 5$, 2nd in the 3$ and 6th in the 10$ on 6/8. On the good side of variance for the 1st day back.

Thanks, lagtight!

We finally took 1 down yesterday! 1st for 88$

Plenty of mistakes still, but seeing steady improvement.

Trying to get the URL of my screenshot to post the win, so I’m not the boy who cried wolf on here. Legolas is the screen name.

Lagtight,

Wrong thread I know, but thought you & others would find this interesting considering yourself & 1 other mentioned mtt’s To me before. Very little experience when y’all said try them, been doing good so far I guess on Global working and trying to learn all the aspects of tournaments that make them so different than cash. I’ve worked harder on tournaments the past few months since then than I had at anything in poker before. This lack of consistent effort & focus directly contributed to me being a long term loser. Studying tournaments gave me jolt of energy and since I’ve really focused on my overall game intensely. As I’m 27 years old, have been playing poker for 4 years but never really putting in the true effort it takes to succeed at even the smallest levels. That realization really drove me the last few months .

This all led to me binking Event #1 at the Heartland poker tour in St. Louis. 3 way chop for 42k each. I know 1 stand alone live score means absolutely nothing, however this is big for me, and my pursuit of poker. Obviously, variance, run good, and all that played a part, but I also 100% believe what’ve I’ve learned playing small stakes mtts on Global directly led to my live success. Much appreciation for y’all mentioning tournaments as an option!

The dream is alive. LONG LONG way to go and plenty of work to do.

GL all
