when going to global poker today i get the message cannot play from my location. previously it was possible to play outside of the united states and canada when traveling but only do prize redemptions when at home. now that seems to be no longer the case. anyone else having problems? global support rep can answer whats going on?

this is not account specific as the message shows when trying to access the global poker site

That is not the case.

From https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/2...ained-1653219/

"I AM CURRENTLY OUTSIDE THE PERMITTED JURISDICTIONS. CAN I STILL PARTICIPATE IN THE GLOBAL POKER SWEEPSTAKES PROMOTION?

No. As set out in Global Poker’s T&Cs and Sweeps Rules, players outside of the United States (excluding outlying Territories and the State of Washington) and Canada (excluding Quebec) (“Permitted Jurisdictions”) cannot participate in Promotional Play (i.e. the Global Poker sweepstakes promotion). Players must be a legal resident of and physically located in the Permitted Jurisdictions.

A player who is a legal resident of a Permitted Jurisdiction but travels outside of the Permitted Jurisdiction is not permitted to engage in Promotional Play on the Global Poker platform using Sweeps Coins or to redeem Sweeps Coins for prizes during their time away from the Permitted Jurisdiction. They may only resume Promotional Play upon returning to the Permitted Jurisdiction."

“THE GAMES AND PLATFORM DO NOT OFFER REAL MONEY GAMBLING, AND NO ACTUAL MONEY IS REQUIRED TO PLAY. ONLY PLAYERS IN THE UNITED
STATES OF AMERICA (EXCLUDING OUTLYING TERRITORIES) AND CANADA (EXCLUDING QUEBEC) ARE ELIGIBLE TO REDEEM PRIZES. PLAYERS IN
WASHINGTON U.S.A., ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO PLAY THE GAMES OR REDEEM PRIZES. SUBJECT TO THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, PLAYERS IN OTHER
JURISDICTIONS MAY PLAY THE GAMES BUT ARE NOT ABLE TO REDEEM PRIZES.”

this was something i was sent by support long ago stating in fact it was ok to participate outside of the jurisdiction and only redeem prizes when at home.

What happens if I leave the country for more than 90 days? Will I lose my sweeps coins for inactivity?

So you can play just not redeem aka cash out. That's not what David said.

Your T&C doesn't include this language or anything like it. It actually says the exact opposite:

Quote:

STATES OF AMERICA (EXCLUDING OUTLYING TERRITORIES) AND CANADA (EXCLUDING QUEBEC) ARE ELIGIBLE TO REDEEM PRIZES. PLAYERS IN

I've been in contact with support all week and they haven't been able to find anything relevant in the T&C or Sweeps Rules. (This is after support has told me on 3 separate occasions that I will have no issues playing from outside the US)

Global Poker are not following their own T&C/Sweeps Rules

I work remotely and was traveling in Mexico when covid hit.

I've played in several countries outside of the US and Canada while traveling.

I made a few withdraws from Mexico with no issues, then was told that I could not redeem prizes from outside of the US and Canada. However, customer service did tell me that I could continue playing while outside of the US, but that redemptions can only be made from within the US and Canada.

Understandable, as that is in the TOS and it was my fault for not realizing that earlier.

However, I don't understand why David is posting that neither playing nor withdrawing from outside the US is an option at this point. I was told that I could continue playing from abroad back in August.

For US players like me who travel very frequently but do not live in another country permanently, US-facing sites are still our only option I believe (maybe some others will let you play from abroad but I'm not sure how cashing out would work.)

Global is definitely the best option for US players IMO, so this is pretty disappointing that I may be forced to take my business to another site if I start traveling long-term again in the future.

JBlaze; you may have been misinformed by CS, and I am sorry for that. I share your disappointment.

Playing with Sweeps Coins and redeeming prizes is prohibited outside of the specified US and Canadian jurisdictions, and for that reason (and to avoid confusion) we are enforcing geoblocking on www.globalpoker.com.

Global Poker has laws, partner agreements, and other factors to consider when deciding where to offer services, and while we might like to cast as wide a net as possible this is not always possible.

Why do your TandC say the exact opposite? It was posted above, several times.

David Lyons my question is if I leave the county for more than 3 months. Will I lose my sweeps for not logging in? Or can I just log in to keep my sweeps?

You just need to login every 90 days to keep your sweeps.
02-10-2021 , 01:03 PM
it doesn't matter how many times you log in money still goes missing if you play cash games. It happened so many times to me now i add everything up before and after sessions. And i have over a buyin missing right now. There response was to add it up again. MAke sure you log in every 90 days and dont play cash games. Or money will mysteriously go missing. You guys can go back and look of people complaining about money missing from global cashier. Do not play cash games. Mtts and sngs are fine to play.

The only time I ran into this for sure was a couple occasions when a game froze and I was forced to email support.

Can you provide evidence because this is a very major accusation?

Global has banned me and seized over $16,000.

I tavel alot also and been playing while traveling. All the sudden they restricted their site around late January. Eager to play I used a vpn not knowing it was violating the TOC. Honestly, who reads the TOC? They have told me in the past email I can play outside of jurisdiction too. Now they changed their toc? It just seems unfair/unjust to block your site without any warning then tell us we can play but not redeem?? Then hit me with a bann and seize all my funds?

Ive been a loyal customer for several years playing fulltime on global and this is the first time in violation. Dont you think its a bit harsh to banned me without any warning or guidance? And seize over $16,000?

Im still shocked on how they are handling this situation. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thx for reading my post. Be careful of using vpn and doing anything out of their jurisdiction.

Anyone with a shred of common sense wouldn't need to read the ToC to know that using a VPN to evade their geo restrictions is a violation. Also, not having read the ToC isn't a defense lol.

That said, the punishment does sound excessive to me.
03-25-2021 , 05:23 PM
you're 100% in the wrong here, but you should still do everything u can to get your money back. next time don't risk that much bc you're eager to play. also probably delete that post saying you used a vpn to circumvent their location filter.

Maybe you should change your name to America's Cardroom and ACR should change their name to Global Poker. Both of your names are flipped, that's all.

+1

Maybe they're called Global to distinguish themselves from the sites that promote the Flat Earth Theory.

You've never seen a flat globe?

03-26-2021 , 07:22 AM
I have been told about 5% of the US population believes the Earth is flat. I have also been told that 90% of all poker players believe they are better than average.

I have been told that 73% of all statistics are made up on the spot.

Furthermore, few people know that the word gullible is not in the dictionary.

LOL, I almost included that in my reply. I am going to have verify the presence of gullible in the dictionary, does Wikipedia count?
