How I track results How I track results

Several people have asked me for the spreadsheet I use to track my Global results since other tools end up being more manual anyways.

Feel free to make comments and ask questions about why I set things up a certain way. The only thing I am sure of is I can't have found the best way to do things all on my own.

I use Excel 2007, you know the one with the ribbon. So if you are that version or after you should be fine. I don't know how open office and older versions will work, but give it a shot. Link is below.

I'm not sure either what's going on in splayaa's worksheet except he has a column for total cash winnings, and one for tournament winnings.

Here's a sample of what I do.

Key:
date
item
buy = buyin
cash = cashout
fin = finished
p/l = profit/loss
plyrs = #players in tournament
dep/wd = deposit/withdraw amount
tBUY = total buyin (total to date)
tCASH = total cahout (total to date)
tP/L = total to date profit/loss
roi
bal = balance in Global account.

EDITED for better view.

Shouldn't we track hours played and # of tables for cash game so we know approximate win rate?

I thought about doing it that way, but figured number of BB won/lost per 100 hands as I wasn't sure how to track individual results for multiple tables. But I can look at a hand counter and my balance at the end of a session.

Although if someone has a better idea, I am all ears.

I play tournaments only, but yes, if you play cash, you want to track that.
