GlobalPoker deposited from UK without knowing UK players can't withdraw?

Guys not sure if anyone can shed some light for me...

Made the mistake of signing up and depositing 4 figs on Global after seeing an advert for Global pop up on my Facebook. The next day I found out players can only withdraw if they're based in the US/Canada? Wasn't really all that clear from their Facebook ads.

Wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

I've been in emails with the support now for the last couple of days asking them if they could use their discretion and credit me back my initial deposit as on the Facebook ad it wasn't clear UK players would be able to deposit real money and then have no withdrawal option.

However the replies I am getting from the support are suggesting they can't refund me.

Wondering what I should do next?

Can you show us what the fine print linked to the ad said? If it was really that unclear I think they should be kind and refund you. If it's clearly stated in the fine print you might be SOL. If that is the case it's possible that you may be able to withdraw in the future, but there is no set timeline for UK withdrawals yet.

Best bet is to run it up and hope uk cashouts come/set up a temp address and take a vacation. Doubt they are going to refund unfortunately

Re: GlobalPoker deposited from UK without knowing UK players can't withdraw?

Yeah haven't had any luck with support I think it's against some legalities to refund me back the deposit so for now it's stuck I guess. I'm thinking this must be quite a common occurrence when non US people visit Global Poker and within a few clicks be signed up and deposited via Paypal - to later finding out there is no withdrawal options at all. Was sifting through all the spam ads on Facebook but now I can't find the exact advert I clicked on unfortunately.

Usually am in the US once or twice a year; not sure if that would allow me to withdraw if I am only visiting on vacation and not actually a resident though...

I would say not, since they also require verification through ID and utility bill or similar.

I don't understand how they could let someone deposit who can't withdraw.

Agree; quite unbelievable that Global don't offer any option for the unlucky non-US customer who stumbles across Global Poker. The ease of signing up via Facebook and making a deposit through Paypal is very quick without having to go through any verification - that might I add if they did it could highlight a clear warning that funds can't be withdrawn. But like I said the wording on the site isn't exactly clear; definitely feel violated.

Imagine Global must just be pocketing the deposit money they get from international customers if they don't offer any reversal methods or solutions?

Have asked support some questions which I've pasted in below. But as we can see from the support response it seems there really isn't anything I can personally do; or Global claim they can do to resolve the problem.

"Hello

I understand it's against the T&C but I must say it's really not very clear for international customers who might sign up to deposit then finding out they can't withdraw in the future.

How about a couple of queries I have?

i. Is it true that if I take a vacation to the US I will be able to withdraw the funds whilst I am there?
ii. Is it possible for the bankroll on my account to be transferred to someone in the USA? I have some US friends that also use Global Poker.

Thanks"

"Hi xxxx

About your query, it is not true that you can cash out just by taking a vacation to or while in the U.S.A. The terms is clear about it "Applies to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States (including District of Columbia) and Canada (excluding resident of the province of Quebec) who are at least eighteen (18) years old. Documents have to be submitted like government ID and proof of address.

Any type of Fund transfer is not allowed on our website. Some players already tried to do this by soft playing even chip dumping. Name it but our Fraud team can easily identify this activities and all the accounts involved might be compromised because we don't tolerate such activities.

Should you have any other questions, please contact customer service at support@globalpoker.com.
Kind regards,
Nick"

Do you think if I can get through to someone higher up in management they might be able to use some more discretion? I've never encountered a problem like this before.

Cheers guys

+1 to not understanding how they can let someone do that... On the other hand I do understand...

P.S one other thing that seems logical/possible at any time here is this---> Paypal turns them down and nobody is withdrawing anything.

Re: GlobalPoker deposited from UK without knowing UK players can't withdraw?

I only recently registered. I haven't made a deposit/withdrawal/or mailed in yet. When I registered it was made very clear who could withdraw and I had to click something saying that I understood that. Maybe this is new.

Save your money by staying away from Global Poker.
Actually Global is becoming quite FAMOUS because of its soft player pool and quick payouts. Almost literally NOBODY has long-term issues with cashing out.

Having said that, Global should make it nearly impossible for someone to deposit who can't easily cash out.

If rationality is to prevail here (and given the tone of posts like the above, it probably won't), maybe it's possible to recognize and resolve issues with somebody that doesn't involve accusing them of "bad faith."

The global poker mod has a post on this somewhere in the general questions thread, but I didn't find it after more or less 5 seconds of searching.

The gyst is that you can deposit and play from nearly anywhere (the site is geo blocked from a handful of countries around the globe), but you can ONLY withdraw to a confirmed USA account (USA identification and proof of address need to be sent to support).

Sorry mate.

Re: GlobalPoker deposited from UK without knowing UK players can't withdraw?

Having the same problem myself and discovered this post when searching google. I have read through the terms and found this;

UK participants can receive Sweepstakes/Prize Promotion Cash by sending a stamped #10 envelope, hand written, to VIRTUAL GAMING WORLDS, GLOBAL POKER SWEEPSTAKES DEPARTMENT, 548 MARKET ST #73140, SAN FRANCISCO, CA 94104. Please add full name, and return address to the front of the envelope and words: "Global Poker Sweepstakes Credits:" followed by the current month and year (example: Sweepstakes Credits: January 2016). For each request a participant submits the participant will receive $6USD (600 Sweepstakes/Prize Promotion Cash). The Sweepstakes/Prize Promotion Cash will be automatically added to the participant's account starting within 5 business days of receipt.

So am i right in thinking we can get our cash out if we send a request by mail?

Please help 😁 thanks

I might be wrong here, but I think I remember the global rep saying you can play from any country when someone said they were not from USA or Canada. I'm almost positive the rep replied and said he could play on global.
