Global Rake and Cash Game Winrates Global Rake and Cash Game Winrates

Anyone beating the mid to high stakes cash games on this site over lots of volume? Just started playing here and I’m still not sure what I think about it. I’ve never been one to care much about rake, but I had a friend tell me that the rake is basically the equivalent of live cash game rake. Is this really true? I’ve been 6-tabling and if they’re really raking like $5 per hand while I’m playing hundreds of hands per hour, I’m not sure the site is a reasonable option for a professional grinder. What say you guys?

I did a quick search on their rake, from what I could tell it's 5% up to a max of $5.50, which is the same at my local casino (although their max is $5 a pot) 1/2 game, so to me Global's rake is tolerable, though I am a rec player who doesn't worry too much about the rake....or maybe my casino rake is 10% up to a max of $5? Don't remember for sure but I know the $5 is most they'll take out of a given pot (well, plus $1 to go to the bad beat)

Most live casinos are 10% + drop, so the global rate is still substantially lower than live poker. It's higher than most other online operators by a decent margin, though, especially considering there's no RB program to speak of.

Right but the winrates in live are far higher and you’re also paying for the dealers, the tables, the brick and mortar casino, etc. Also far fewer hands per hour. $5 per pot while you’re 6-tabling in short handed games seems a little extreme.

I say their TOS states the site is not for professionals so maybe you would be better off playing somewhere else. In fact I would prefer it.

Rake too high. Might want to just play elsewhere, especially if you're a professional grinder. Don't need professionals paying all that rake ldo

People have been asking them about this for years, honesty I think they just don't care, they take advantage of the players and claim their rake is in line with other sites. its not, plus the fact they offer no rakeback and aren't transparent at all with this. There should be a GP employee responding to this asap, but they never do, its pretty sickening.

Do you still play there?

I'm confused - how can one be any more transparent about no rakeback, than simply offering no rakeback? I've never known a poker site to advertise that they don't offer rakeback.

Why? What is there they need to address ASAP, and what are you expecting they'd say?

Yes they have high rake. I cannot find the rake on their site for the life of me anymore though...That link doesn't work and on their site they say click this link for more info for rake. That link goes through rules, but I do not see rake anywhere on the site anymore. Hopefully they didn't slyly raise it again.

Would playing 1 table instead of 6 reduce the rake you pay?

It used to be here....but since the update, it's gone. It needs o be put back up as it should be readily available for anyone that wants to see it.

man..my experience 10 tabling for like ~8 hrs a day for on here at SSNL is that the rake is tough to beat. withdrew a substantial profit but probably made 4x that in rake for the site somehwere in the neighborhood of 175-200k. was never once offered anything in return for my loyalty to the site-would have been sweet to get a tshirt or maybe a hat lol???
if i had any dignity i would have walked away a long time ago...hope you make the right choice

Interesting. It'd be nice to know the exact rake. For example, if you're playing 100 nl and some dude with a $20 stack limps...and you just decide to ship it all-in pre...do you even show a profit if the guy folds?

Yes, A $2 pot (his $1 limp your shove (only $1 now...he folded)covering his limp is raked about 11 cents).
