Anyway, I don't mean to sound obnoxious. I haven't noticed a big difference but I could be wrong. I like tournaments a bit better for online play. Could just be me.

Cash tables and tournaments appeal to different tastes. Cash table players don't want to play MTTs because of variance and because they take a long time to play. Cash players like the freedom and flexibility that playing cash gives them.

Rec players like tournaments because there is a stop loss, you can't lose more than your buy in and maybe 1 more entry if you do that. It's easier for them to budget it and get a decent amount of entertainment, which is why they play. Sometimes they get a big win which is more thrilling for them than playing cash.

Cash tables and tournaments also require different skill sets. Tournaments require knowing how to play short stacked. Playing deep stacked requires a deeper knowledge of the game because you have to play all four streets. Whereas in the late stage of tournaments you're committing preflop or flop. You don't have to plan your hand for 4 streets. But you do need to be able to rank your two cards, consider stack sizes, table position, any action before you, and some ICM to know whether to shove or call. Just because someone beats cash doesn't mean they will beat tournies, and visa versa.

You sounded remarkably obnoxious but that's alright.

Tournaments have way more variance, check out this variance calculator to see what I mean - https://www.primedope.com/tournament...ce-calculator/
and this one for cash - https://www.primedope.com/poker-variance-calculator/ . It is far more likely to have long downswings in MTTs than cash, some players don't like that.

Tournaments require way more rigid time commitments. Some cash players prefer to play an hour or two in a day during the week and longer sessions on the weekend, you can't do that as easily in MTTs.

MTTs require you to learn strategy at multiple stack sizes and with ICM implications, some players would prefer to not have to do that, and only specialize in studying deepstack play.

I could go on and on but there's a million reasons why good players choose cash even if MTTs are softer. What I meant by comparable games, is if you are equally studied at MTTs and Cash, and you play $50 buy in MTTs and 50NL cash, your win rate will almost definitely be higher at the MTTs.

Truth be told though, I'm a nobody who plays 2/5 live, 50NL, and online MTTs up to $100 (MTTs being purely for fun, haven't spent any amount of serious time studying.) If you're actually curious I'd recommend reaching out to pros, coaches, streamers, etc. Many are very open to questions and they are certainly more qualified SMEs than I. See what they say.

"Those in the know say so, and sometimes that should be enough." Not always good wisdom but worth considering

Competition seems soft in all games and tourney/cash at the low stakes.

In low-stakes Hold'em Tourneys, there are a lot of very basic mistakes being made in the beginning stages, including true maniacs. Once the blinds start getting high, people are playing way too tight.

I think I'll only answer one of these questions to start. Also shoutout to Ahweiss123, long time no talk huh?

1. How does your strategy for deep tourneys (like the deep $11) differ from deep bounty tourneys?

Well basically not too too much, but a bit. I might go after small stacks more and 3 bet or shove to push other people out a little more than in a regular tournament. I learned from pokercoaching com that there is a way to mathematically define how much the bounty is worth in terms of bbs to effect the pot odds and change the ranges slightly, but it really isn't a huge change to the overall strategy. I have played a bounty incredibly loose and done really well picking up tons of bounties, but you have to be running very hot for that to really go in your favor. In most of the other cases where you're not running hotter than the sun, you should try to play a good fundamentally sound strategy and you're gonna pick up some bounties along the way. Over playing a good amount of bounty tournaments I realize that loosen your range slightly to account for bounties especially if others are getting in pretty loose for the same reason, but you should probably try not to deviate too too far from a fundamentally sound playing style.
