Good idea - I need motivation for sngs, they get boring after the first couple thousand, lol. I would possibly do something for like a month or something. I just think a year would require a bigger bet and then bigger chance something comes up where someone couldn't finish it.

New cashout option, (email from global)

Hi Global Poker Fan

Over the past year, we have received continuous feedback from players like you wanting a range of different purchase and cash out options.

Because of this, we are looking to expand the number of payment options available to Global Poker players to provide you more choice when playing our range of exciting games.

An important part of this process is to test different options before rolling them out to all customers to ensure that they work smoothly and effectively.

You are among the first group of customers selected to trial Worldpay, the world’s leading payment processor whom we are currently trialling a relationship with. In the interest of this trial being successful, from today you will only be able to make purchases and cash outs using Worldpay.

What does this mean for you?

We expect that you will find Worldpay easier to use. The solution is compatible with all credit cards and banks and making purchases and cash outs is a simple process. We are confident that this will improve your experience with Global Poker.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support of Global Poker. As always, we are here to assist you with any questions so do not hesitate to contact us at anytime.

Regards,
The Global Poker team

So you can only use Worldpay? And they're in a trial basis with that processor? No more Paypal?

Exactly this sounds really off from what Joey was saying about it.

Hi,

I took this hand from the book Sit and Go Strategy by Collin Moshman. The book was published in 2008 so I have to believe some of the strategy is a little outdated. I don't really get why we are calling here. Seems like a fairly obvious fold or raise situation. He doesn't provide limper's position either. I could be way off on this, but looking for some input.

Blinds: t30-60, 9 Players
Your hand: You (t1900) have A3ss in the small blind
Action to you: Two limpers (t1800 and t2100)
Question: Fold or Call?
Answer: Call. You are late to act before the flop and are being offered a discounted price with a quality speculative hand.

This belongs in the cashout or deposit thread not here in the SNG thread. And as a matter of fact there is already a dedicated thread for this.

I see... I'll ask a mod to delete it.

Well while you are browsing the Global poker threads maybe you should try BROWSING the Global poker threads. You know scroll down and have a look.

We can't be combining thread topics or there will be chaos!

In late April, I withdrew what little funds I had on Global after a small downswing. I was working at the time, and didn't really have time to focus on poker. I was working 40 hours a week, and commuting probably another 10 hours.

It wasn't long before I decided to quit my job. I had been there 1.5 years, and was making ok money, but I wasn't happy with the work or the commute. I sold some stocks that I had, and added that money to my life roll. On May 7th, I decided to deposit $100 on Global, and play only sngs. When I ended my session last night, I was at $1,006. I feel a small sense of accomplishment, as this is the first notable milestone on the journey.

See you guys on the tables.

I rarely browse threads. I check in to my subscribed threads page which tells me if there are new post in threads I am active in, basically the single table tournament forum chat thread because I have been a part of that forum since 2004 and have friends there, and now this thread.

If this is a chat/discussion thread it should be open to whatever poker related discussion we members of the thread want to discuss. If nobody is interested in something someone posts it won't be discussed and the topic will die on its own, if people are interested it gets discussed.

That's how I view it anyway, but I am probably biased by my very long history in the sttf chat threads. When we have known each other for 10+ years it naturally leads to more "hey, how's life? What you been up to?" type stuff.

If you guys want to keep this thread to a very narrow set of topics very specific to global sng's that's fine, whatever everyone wants, but I'd probably get bored with it and unsubscribe. I see it more as a thread to meet the people I'm playing with, give and get advice, get to know people, find news I've missed, etc.

Yeah I don't have the time for that in this sit n go thread. Maybe meet them in general discussion.

Good day sir

Hello Lacky! I remember you from back in the day on STTF. How have the global poker SNGs been treating you?

I've just been trying out some of the stt's on global and they seem quite soft at the lower limits. How is everyone tracking results without the ability for HH's?

I'm calling here. You already have chips invested, have a nutted flush draw hand, and you're suited/connected with an ace. Why wouldn't you call? You have to call 30 chips, and the BB will check most of his range. Fold or raise spot? No, and no. I think folding is actually better than raising, but both are bad.

Thanks! I never set a concrete goal, but the goal was to run it up.

You're right about this being a chat/discussion thread. There is nothing wrong with people having friendly conversations here. The last thing you wrote is true: it is a place for people to meet their opponents, get to know them, give and get advice, and catch up on any missed news. There aren't any rules against friendly banter here.

Hey man, welcome to the thread. You can track Global sng/mtt results on SharkScope. As far as I know, that's the only way.

as far as SnGs specifically go, these are the people who are at least slightly better than horrible:

-poker12
-agorist
-serpaetetra most of the time
-sometimes Jared
-occasionally moofeus although he obv does idiotic stuff on the semi-reg
-a couple of the guys who grind only 9m are OK

If you are not on this list you are a ****ing mouthbreather and should withdrawal all of your money post haste.

LOL I've never played with you but your tilt posts make me want to just to see some of the tilt action first hand. I'm just a low stakes player though, $30 and under.
