Global Poker SNG Discussion Thread Global Poker SNG Discussion Thread

It is both amusing and annoying that the person who is usually belittling others for how they play is also usually the biggest idiot on the table.

Discuss.

totally standard, the odd times you see someone who has a clue doing the belittling they tend to have brain worms. ego is what makes poker such a profitable game, thank goodness for it!

I try to tell people the same thing about suck outs and when people get lucky. Thank goodness they do, because otherwise bad players would never play.

We do have games where the best player always wins, we call them chess and we don't play for money. It doesn't take long for someone to figure out they will never win at chess against certain opponents, and to stop playing them. In poker, you are always thinking, "Yeah but if the river is x, I can win!"

getting quite a bit of lag after 3-4 hours of playing, any1 else running into this?

Well said.

+1

Equally annoying is when a good player berates the commentary of the idiot. That can result in the -EV occurence of the idiot leaving the table. (Although, fortunately, usually the idiot defends the brilliance of his own analysis and keeps playing.)

This only applies to cash games but chatting is so OP. If you get recs that chat they'll stay at the table because they're only there to have fun. Pretty ez. Global and betonline are the 2 america sites where that's a thing

Back to the sng's.. Midstakes and highstakes just don't run and it sucks.

Wholeheartedly agree. Regs need to chime in with them every few mins. The recs love for someone to chat with them. Helps make them want to keep playing at that site.

Totally. Not just for banter but you often see moron recs chatting to the abyss as if they're afraid of being at a table full of bots so it's nice to quell those fears.

Big +1. You see it all the time. The recs typing many similar versions of... "this table is all bots". If you chat with them, puts the riggys at ease.

Came here to see if anybody else was seeing this. Too lazy to email support but the lobby's been stuck for at least a couple hours now showing the same three players registered, and not allowing any new entrants. No new Winston tables have been created in this time.
10-17-2018 , 12:19 PM
I emailed support about the Winstons, but so far only got a reply to make sure I have a desktop and a working browser lol. Just emailed them again.
10-17-2018 , 03:31 PM
fukking form is a joke you have to put so many irrelevant details to something that is not even account specific

Link them to this thread if you haven't already to show them it's not an isolated user problem. As for myself, I cleared my cache, restarted my computer, and relogged in, but I just checked and it's still stuck even now. Or maybe it would be easier to just get Joey or Kimber's attention.
10-17-2018 , 10:28 PM
This has happened in the past where lobbies just get frozen. If I remember correctly, it took them a few days to figure out.
10-19-2018 , 12:06 PM
4 max winner take all hypers are in the lobby now.

Them adding spin and go's would be infinitely better than those. I don't know if a web based browser is capable of doing spins though
10-19-2018 , 05:18 PM
Ya props to gp for adding new games. Idk about 4max with 1st place payout tho. Spin n go or 3max w/ first prize payout would have more incentive

Also thanks for adding 500 chips to the plo sng starting stacks. They were super gambly before w/ 1k (kinda funny tho haha)

3 times in an hour and a half the same guy flops a set or turns a set against my 2 pair or or AK top pair. Those odds don’t add up. This was a $1 $2 blind table.
This isn’t variance is bs.
10-24-2018 , 07:03 AM
It's simple variance. You play enough hands you will run into FAR worse, worse than you can even imagine. You will also get to be a golden god at times and simply can't lose. It's all out there waiting to land on someone. If my 15 million plus hands have taught me anything it's that poker can be VERY cruel sometimes.

Do the same people still play the sngs since pre PayPal?

i started playing sngs after gp switched to world pay.... i think they still run lol

10% rake on sngs is disgusting.

Play 1,000 $50 sngs for the low price of $5,000!
10-25-2018 , 07:27 AM
The high rake is worth paying for how soft the sng's are.
