Global Poker not playing out correct amounts for HyperTurbo SNGs (and maybe others) Global Poker not playing out correct amounts for HyperTurbo SNGs (and maybe others)

Hi all,

Just wanted to let you know about a situation I had with Global Poker.

I just placed 2nd in a $5+ 0.35 Hyper Turbo SNG .

On the final hand, me and the 3rd place player got knocked out at the same time, however I had more chips, meaning I got 2nd place.

Upon checking my account balance, I noticed that I only received the amount of my buy in back, and not the 2nd place prize money that is listed.

I emailed them about this issue, and I am waiting to hear back.

Will let you know as soon as they reply.

If any Global Poker customer service reps are here, please reply as well.

Thanks.

Not a mistake, that's how Global pays out when there are two people knocked out at the same time.

Yes there are other threads on this subject. We all hate it. Take the way they pay out into consideration and adjust accordingly.

A bunch of interesting spots pop up, when with the normal SnG payout structure, a hand might be an easy shove, but given how Global pays out SnGs, it becomes a fold, or vise versa. I'll be sitting there wondering if a certain opponent knows how Global does it and making adjustments and counter-adjustments to my range

Does anyone else feel that it fundamentally changes the game for you as well ????

Why would they do this?

It's so stupid!

With that being said, what type of adjustments need to be made ?

I didn't know it when I FT Daily Bonanza. 3 handed. chip lead 1.4m, shortstack 200k, me 700k, blinds like 25/50k or something. Chip lead shoves OTB short calls, I have 99 on BB. If I knew this is the way they are paying I'd have folded.

I'd be folding that hand anyways... Pretty standard play when you are set to ladder up in the prize pool.

Lol, not hard to have a massive disclaimer that their tournament payout is different from every other poker room ever.

And yet for Global it is a challenge.

acknowledging it in the form of a comment or a reply to a customer of theirs in the forum they pay for also seems to be a challenge for them, let alone what you mentioned. At what point it is no longer a "challenge" or "oversight" etc and does it become intentional at worst or something that they missed at best?

edit - how i managed to leave this out of my novel in the other thread i have no idea but its goin in tomm with the addition of the Bovada structures for comparison purposes. We're gonna learn these zynga guys, we can't just let the inmates like splayaa and co. run the assylum, thanks to the more seasoned players that have chimed in lately, and those that have been all along.
