I would *really* appreciate a button to turn chat off. I know there are a few cute solutions to this including permanently disabling. I'm amazed that a game of information will display something as unwanted and alarming as a red circle that grows numerically -- every online game offers a chat button.

Sorry for demanding excellence from an employer. It's caused me trouble in the past but I'm not willing to back down.

haven't played on global in about a year. checked the cash game lobby and I've never seen anything so sad used to be 10+ 1/2 tables, 6+ tables of 2/4, at least 3-4 tables of 5/10, obviously 10/20 was a thing...

now it's like 4 tables of 1/2 and a couple tables of 2/4-5/10. losing paypal destroyed this place huh

I mean, even a few months ago the traffic was fine. Don't worry we got NASCAR traffic now xd.

Maybe I'm just a coastal elite but I'm a pretty big sports fan and I've never in my life met someone who follows NASCAR. Site really should just do stuff for the players instead of trying more advertising. Even on the rigged PPP apps I get 25-40% rb.

That wasn't my point. I get that not all people who watch NASCAR have $1100 total in their bank account like you.( Be proud, that's almost a good amount of money for a pizza delivery guy) My point was thousands were exposed to Global who weren't before. But you knew my point and just wanted to troll. Well it didn't work.

I think exposure is the key word here. They targeted a specific sports market to see if it would generate some traffic. For a 2-day race, you are looking at a 4-5 days of festivities around that particular track. So, maybe they were hoping that a certain percentage of people, that made contact with the car, would google Global Poker to check it out. All pro sporting events are made up of a diversified background of economics, but to catch the person with disposable income, willing to deposit and play recreationally is the point. After all, GP, states in it's TOS that playing professionally is a no-no, and that is what keeps this rec friendly. As far as giving back to players...there are three MTTs everynight with a overlay that cost the player $.11, $1 and $5 to participate. They have a $5000 guarantee on Sunday, with entry fee of $.11. Adding rakeback incentives would cater to the pros, which GP is not about, most rec players don't even know what the rake is must less rakeback.

Global could've taken half their Nascar ad budget, placed it directly into the accounts of net depositors, and they would've actually had a noticeable traffic increase. Easier to keep the fish in your net than it is to dunk the net back in to find new fish

Yeah this is what I meant and the type of idea I like a lot. I hope GP reads your post and implements it. I'm totally fine with sites offering no "traditional" RB...I love the RIO splash the pot model.

I don't think buying MLB/NBA ads is a good way to get players either. Also <$6 mtts with overlay like wtf how does that help the ecology at MS and HS cash (or even nl50-100). That is seriously nothing. I don't expect RB or even think it would be good for games...I would be OK with any possible RB I got going into the accounts of net depositors.

While those MTTs you describe sound nice, how about $100++ buyin MTTs with decent gurantees but almost no chance of overlay? It would at least get money onto the site. Right now I don't think players have any reason to deposit on global when WPN has sportsbook/casino/large mtts and Ignition/Bovada has the same+fast fold games.

this is actually #SAD and I'm in PPP clubs with more nl200+400 games running.

I understand it's against GP ToS to play professionally on the site but that doesn't mean they should let traffic die at reasonable stakes.

I have no idea why people always bring this up as if it's unique to Global's TOS. The fact that term exists isn't what keeps the site rec friendly; it's an industry standard condition.

Look at the terms of Global compared to the most reg friendly site out there:

WPN:
Quote:
Commercial use of the Software or any professional use as part of a business of betting or wagering is strictly forbidden. You are only allowed to play for Your personal entertainment and recreational play.
Global:
Quote:
(c)you participate in the Games strictly in your personal capacity for recreational and entertainment purposes only;
If pros stayed away from sites because of terms like that, there wouldn't be a single site for them to play on.

Or fish cause there would be no tables running..

About 40minutes after I made my last post there were 8 tables of NL200 running just completely out of the blue. I think a lot of those players are bots...though with no data it's impossible to confirm or deny...I guess I don't even mind it that much because it means there's traffic and I'm winning against them.

I am sure this has been discussed but the interface revamp is utter trash. Hand history "pages" have disappeared, if you try to change the time frame, my browser locks up for a minute while it attempts to fetch things and errors out most of the time. Doing this while playing causes everything to lock up.

Why is it such a problem for people to be able to look at hands from like 20 minutes ago, I love to share these with friends but unless i grab it from the table right after it happens, its lost...

Major step backwards, Global. Been playing since launch. Really disappointed, can't see why you decided to remove popular features. Beyond me.

Traffic has been notably falling at any reasonable stakes over the past few months. The only time I see traffic picking up is when certain regs are willing to play 2-3 handed. I understand the not breaking tables when a fish leaves etc. I try not to do that, but at the same time I'm not about to play HU/3 handed against better regs in an effort to keep tables going with the rake as it is. I'm assuming a lot of other bad regs like myself do the same and voila there goes your traffic.

Sorry I'm talking PLO specifically. I'm not saying it's not there, just no where the amount of tables or consistency as before.

On the mobile experience I truly miss the "Don't wait for big blind" button. I often just want to play a few hands with my schedule and don't want to wait. Can that button be added on mobile?

More 9 man speeds

$10 and up all only have 1 speed.

$10 -- turbo
$20 -- reg speed
$30 -- turbo

Not sure why the $6.60 Maggie's are the only level that has turbo and reg speed.
04-10-2019 , 01:25 PM
It wouldn't make sense to offer both speeds at $10/$20/$30/$40/$50. They purposely flip-flopped between turbos/regulars because otherwise there would be too many formats.

If you want a more balanced offering they should use a standardized buyin structure at all formats (9man, 6max turbos/hypers/regulars).

Something like:
$1.00
$3.50
$7.00
$15.00
$30.00
$60.00
$100
$200

That would make more sense for everything. In hypers for example, there's really no need to have both $50s and $70s; a $60 buyin works better.

MAKE GLOBAL POKER GREAT AGAIN
  • Excruciatingly Slow Customer Support
  • Nearly Dead Traffic At Mid & Low Stakes
  • Removing Paypal
  • 10/20 Cash Tables Removed + 9-Man Hyper SNGs Removed
  • Highest Rake Bar None
  • "Ship-It" Series (Fund $weeps Back Into Accounts Instead OR Do A WSOP Satellite?)
  • Debit / Credit Cards Denied Via 3D Processor
  • Cash-out Issues, Month+ Bank Verification Process
  • Skrill Doing Virtually Nothing For Site Traffic
  • Jackpot Taking Traffic Away From Main Lobby

Since around February 2018 I've been a player on Global and to see its downfall throughout the past year and change has been pretty devastating to say the least. Currently considering moving main poker sites and have been a diehard advocate of Global since its inception (even preached my trust in them during the PayPal removal era).

The disconnect Global currently has with its playerbase (outside of Kimbr on these forums) is life-threatening to its economy as a whole. I've seen countless amounts of threads stating that Global takes 4+ days to respond to tickets, which is absurd considering they used to get back at players within the hour. How is this recreationally friendly in any way? No new player that is already having issues or experiencing anxiety within their cash-out wants to jump through flaming hoops within support just to have a slight hope of getting their money while they're completely in the dark! Read the cash-out verification thread recently and you can see issues with people attempting to withdrawal for the first time - taking MONTHS, despite the player doing everything correctly, the problem seems to be on Global or WorldPay's end and it never even gets brought to light.

Card transactions are suddenly not working? Despite people using the same cards they did for months on end with it processing correctly? For real? Why are users now getting denied on attempting to put money onto the site? I've attempted to deposit with both Skrill and my Debit Card / Bank Account and have been denied multiple times. This needs to be fixed as my card never had an issue to begin with. How many recreational players are going to attempt to contact their bank? I'm not even sure if mine will work after I reach out, as it hasn't worked for others!

Global needs a complete customer service re-haul and assurance that funds can be put into their site seamlessly. We need better promotions that can bring recreational players back to play. A better tournament schedule / structure. Cash game tables rarely get over 8 full 6-max rings going at any given time throughout the day, at ANY stake. Global used to easily have 20+ running throughout nearly every stake.

What is going on? As a diehard fan of this site, I'm about to bottom out and move somewhere else.
Don't get mistaken as this being a thread to only *****. Looking for intelligent ideas from 2+2's userbase with actual conviction through Global's staff to get people playing again.

they need a longer time bank
04-11-2019 , 08:44 AM
They need to lower the rake overall and more specifically for HU/3 handed play to at least try to get people to start games. This will fall on deaf ears as it always has though. They also need to fix the button placement when a game falls to HU. An issue that I have been bringing up for over 6 months now that Kimber says is now passed along (this is around the 4th time I've been told this so I will be surprised if this is actually fixed).
04-11-2019 , 09:08 AM
Completely forgot about the button placement glitch.. that's been going on since the dawn of time and actually has cost me chips in HU sngs.
I suppose their argument against lowering rake on lower level games is, "only regs would propose or think about rake when starting new tables", which is disheartening to say the least.

Pretty sad how this site can fall so far from grace in such a short period of time. The only thing I've been happy about throughout the entire renovation process is their lobby, which still has a long way to go before actually being up to par in 2019.
100% not depositing on here again until I see traffic increase, would rather run a $1,000 deposit bonus up on other sites I've never cared to try (BetOnline, ACR, Ingition, etc).
04-11-2019 , 09:35 AM
The HU button glitch is so minor, but is so annoying at the same time that a poker company cannot even develop software that works correctly in 2019. I'm convinced they have no idea what I'm even talking about as they've simply closed my ticket or Kimber has passed it on without being fixed. RIP online poker in the US for real though. Sad times.
04-11-2019 , 03:27 PM
Agreed z00ted.
Traffic is way down.
There wouldn't be any midstakes PLO games going if it wasn't for just a handful of players.
The forum seems pointless as the mod is only really here for deposit and cashout issues and clearly doesn't understand poker issues.

One way to improve the site is a rewards program. I understand their focus is on recreational players, but since when does a player not like a rewards program? Pretty much every business today has a rewards program. It could be a terrible program with small benefit to grinders. A rewards program only makes people play more and that is what we need. People like moving up to the next level and will play more than they normally would have if it just simply means they get a free shirt for their play. With rake so high I don't see how their business cannot support giving a small percentage back to the players.

It is easier to keep a customer than find a new one. Their approach seems to just find new players and do nothing for retention of the current ones. They are not making money because they run a good business, but because of the lack of good options for US players. Their way of doing things can not last, just look at the traffic for proof.

Head over to bovada guys...

Oh wait they just literally did the worst software change in the history of online poker and made their site pretty much unplayable
