Global claims their rake is in line with other sites, is this true? Global claims their rake is in line with other sites, is this true?

In a recent email after asking them why they haven't offered lower rake or rakeback or some sort of cash games promotion they claimed the rake is they said taking "5% as rake which is also similar to other poker room sites" without specifying which sites and without specifying the rake for shorthanded, is there even any reason for discussing this or will GP ever actually listen to their players?

its only comparable if you dont include rakeback. the comparable sites require a lot of volume to see a decent rakeback, so for low volume players its not much different.

I mean, you can very easily look up the rake for global and its competitors. Have you even looked at what the rake is on global?

No one is hiding their rake https://globalpoker.com/page/rake

You can find similar pages on all sites.

Flat 10% rake is absolutely not "the lowest effective rake for any USD denominated site in these games, ever"....what are you on about? Plenty of sites are 10% with RB, which immediately gives lower effective rake.

Their rake is also directly higher at the 100 and 200 mtt levels, (110 vs 109 and 218 vs 215 respectively).

Just pay the rake and be happy you can play online poker.

People also forget that the faster a structure the higher the rake due to lower win rates. Some hyper SnG reg posted the hyper structure on Global compared to the Pokerstars structure and it was almost a super hyper structure thus lowering win rates which ultimately increases rake.

This is also true. Huge ones being no 15/30 or 20/40, but also lack of some other levels (30/60, 40/80) having some impact as well. Hypers are very overraked relative to average.

Global Poker Ring Game Rake

The rake in Global Poker ring games is 5% across the board. The maximum possible rake taken varies from $1 to $5.50 depending on the format of the game, the stakes, and the number of players in the hand. Taking 5% for the house is pretty standard across the internet poker industry although there are a few rooms that rake less. The $5.50 cap at the highest stakes is, however, a bit more than at most competing sites, which cap the rake at $3 or $4.

Especially worrisome are the rake amounts for heads-up, three-handed, and four-max play. It's typical for a card room, whether brick and mortar or online, to give users a significant discount on the rake charged when playing shorthanded. This is done because the edges are smaller, the action is faster, and much more rake is charged per player, per hand, and per hour. However in Global Poker's case, these rake caps tend to be only slightly lower when the tables are short than when they're full.

but unfortunately, both regular and turbo games charge a full 10% fee. Hyper turbo players do get a small rake break down to 7%, but this is still higher than at competing sites.

^^ The rake at Global Poker is higher than the industry average. And this is before factoring in things like rakeback or rewards programs at other sites which lower the effective rate even more, thus making Global Poker's rake even less competitive.
