Re: General questions Globalpoker.com

Hello, I'm experiencing a bug where my tables will look a bit funky. I'd estimate it happens about once every 5 sessions- was wondering if anyone would know what causes it so I can actively avoid triggering it. Really there's only 1 serious problem when it happens which is I can't see how much money the guy in the upper left seat has, but also in multiway pots it's a bit harder to tell who has cards and who folded.

Left table is what it normally looks like, right table is bugged- both windows are the same size

Wait a few days and try again. Sometimes calling PayPal and verifying your info can help.

Re: General questions Globalpoker.com

Are there any rewards for referring friends? I saw there was a post last year saying there was not but haven't seen anything recently. I also saw talk of "rakeback" being implemented in future updates but haven't seen anything on the site yet.

1. Don't know about referrals.

2. Will probably never see rakeback on Global.

Referrals would be fun. Even a custom avatar for people who bring in a certain number of players would be a good idea, but obviously best would be $weeps Cash.

I could go for a Freeroll as well. You and your friend BOTH get to be in the first time deposit freeroll.

Yeah I agree rakeback is extremely unlikely.

Re: General questions Globalpoker.com

The rake structure for this network is by far the worst of any US facing site. Further, the software, traffic, and lack of HUD/official software support all leaves much to be desired.

Look into using Firefox instead of Chrome, and if Chrome is your jam and you can't give it up (insert Rick Astley video here) then look at this thread for a suggestion on a fix. It works for some people it is reported, I am just on firefox so I don't know for sure.

That's what I was saying the other day. Guys at RIO from ROW (non-US) couldn't believe it when they looked it up. It's outrageous compared to PokerStars and quite inflated compared to the other US facing networks. I still haven't deposited here as I have plenty of money on other sites and am profiting there.

Factual evidence of rake driving off potential customers -_-

Organising a rake strike would be pretty sick. Would need to spread through 2+2 and global table chat. Poker players are too degen tho for this to work

Re: General questions Globalpoker.com

I got an email last night saying a little over $100 had been put into my account because, in their words:

Quote:
Global Poker has become aware of a situation involving a violation of our Terms of Use, to the potential detriment of other players. You participated in games that were under consideration in this case and as a result you may have been adversely affected.

On an instance such as this it is our policy to confiscate the $weeps of the offender(s) and for Global Poker to distribute these where appropriate. This compensation pool is then distributed to players potentially affected in as fair a way as possible. As such, your Global Poker account has been issued with a $weeps Cash compensation credit of ~tree-fiddy $sweeps cash.

The integrity of the games at Global Poker is of paramount importance and appropriate action will always be taken when players operate outside the Terms of Use.

We regret that we will be unable to answer questions as to how your specific credit amount was calculated. Likewise, we are not at liberty to identify the specific games or player(s) in question. Suffice to say that the appropriate action has been taken against the offender(s) and you will not encounter them again.

Thank you for your continued play at Global Poker. Please let us know if we can help you with any further issues or questions.
There were literally no other details and I honestly am very curious as to how I was affected by the account. I am certain I was never superused against (except maybe by psychic whales who can see the river....) and I have never felt any collusion in the games. I have only played 6m NL cash games on the site....the last time I played was around end of April when I maybe played a few thousand hands of 100nl and I have not played 200nl since December (and there was zero volume between then and April).

Also the amount I got is kinda high considering the stakes I was playing if you think about how much an 100nl player can be harmed by collusion/TOS violation...so I am guessing the guy had like 10k in his account and global just divided among 100 people?

It is great and all that Global is doing stuff like this but really just goes to show we need downloadable hand histories and more ways to police botting/collusion.

When did GP lower the amount of sweeps cash when you mail in an envelope?

It was $6, now its a dollar.

Re: General questions Globalpoker.com

I'd like to address this issue of GlobalPoker not allowing us to track our own personal results.

Am I the only one who doesn't feel comfortable just trusting GP that they got my account balance right?

How are we supposed to even know that our account balances are being updated to the correct amount during the lag period between leaving a table and the funds showing up in the account balance?

With this policy in place, it seems very easy for GP to decide to just start scooping a couple dollars off my balance each time I leave a table. How would I have any idea that the correct amount was placed in my balance?

Even if we did have a gripe about this and thought the amount that showed up in our balance was incorrect, we'd have absolutely no way to prove it.

The software itself has proved to be quite buggy. Who else has been dealt into a hand without a pot and not given any option to bet? How do we know there aren't other bugs that could potentially siphon off our funds or mess with the rake calculation?

It just seems shady to me, why don't you want us to be able to do our own accounting and check to make sure you haven't made any errors?

The current policy just makes it seem like GP has something they are trying to hide.

First off, +1. Global needs to show account history to and from tables and to and from Tournaments. This is my number one feature request of them.

With that said, I track my account balance and have never had any issues except for a SNG which got fouled up and was an issue with the site that was fixed a few weeks back.

I have been playing here since Feb-2017 so if they are skimming money, they aren't doing it from me.

I don't auto-reload, so that doesn't get me, and I will have a couple of tables open here and there, but mostly one table.

It get that many players don't play this way, and so tracking things is much more difficult. I would encourage them to do their best to track things and if they really want to make sure things are legit, use ShareX a freeware open source screen recording software, and then you can review the game tape as it were.

I get that this isn't a real solution, I don't present it as such. Its more of a workaround for the time being.

The REAL solution is Global shows your starting balance, any reloads and ending table balance for EVERY table you play. SNGs and Tournaments should also show their data.

Ctrl + scroll wheel -> reduce zoom percent. The top left icons get tiny and the graphics mostly re-adjust.

It's not the point as to whether or not they are doing it now. The point is that with the current policy in place, if they chose to do it, they very easily could. Of course it'd be a lot easier to do it to those who play many tables compared to those who usually play just 1 or 2.

I'm playing anywhere from 5-8 tables and constantly closing out tables and opening other ones. Trying to track all of this and write everything down would take away half my time allotted to play. It'd be more cost effective for me to just eat the cost of whatever they took from me and spend that time grinding.

This is not good enough. We need to be able to download our own hand histories. Balances don't include what hands you won and lost. These numbers can still be edited and we'd not have any idea without being able to reference specific hand numbers.

It's not like allowing us to download our own hand histories (without opponent names) gives anyone an advantage over anyone else. There are no opponent account names in the hand histories so it's impossible to glean any information about our specific opponents from this information. The only reason I can think of to deny us this information is either 1)they don't understand that giving us our own hand histories doesn't give any of us an advantage over others, or 2)they are cheating us somehow or planning to cheat us in the future.
