Hey i recently registered a global poker acc in NJ, is global poker illegal to play in NJ because most sites in NJ require that you be 21+ and i think NJ has it's own pool (also i'm not 21 yet).

I just requested my first cash out last night - I haven't received any emails yet, but it just says in GP "Pending Approval" - what do I need to do next?

Nevermind, figured it out. Different email address on my Facebook account ^_^.

Hello,

To play on Global Poker you must be over the age of majority for your jurisdiction.

In New Jersey that age is 18 so you are good to go! :-)

Is your team still working on fixing the lag problem? Any plan to add a disconnect timebank to the site in the meantime? Doing so would at least eliminate some of the problem of disconnecting and losing a pot as personally I can usually reconnect in 10 seconds or less. Was rake reduced for short handed play? Some people reported they saw less rake being taken, but I have not noticed yet.

Mine show in EST, but I also live in VA, so I don't know if that is because everything shows in EST or because I live in VA.

Hey,

The server time should change in relation to your computer settings.

We generally talk in EST but the time on the actual Global Poker site should be in relation to your computer settings.

You guys would do a lot better if you accepted BTC. I have no interest in using paypal either. That is the last way I'd like to receive money.

+1 to BTC

Can you guys who want bitcoin added at least show your work? I'm quite skeptical that adding bitcoin is good for the games. Seems like that only makes it easier for people that aren't living in the currently allowed list of countries to play in the games. For now count me as a -1.

If by show your work you mean my reasoning for wanting a bitcoin option, then I simply want it because as many valid options as we can have for moving money around is a good thing.

With that said, you are absolutely correct that having bitcoin would allow players from anywhere of any age to move money around, and Global will likely not allow this. And I can understand their position on it.

But with all that said, and the likelihood it won't happen, I am still game if it does happen. Hopefully that provides some clarity, at least of my opinion on it.

Yes, I was curious for your reasoning. My thoughts are just that the purchase/payout options are unique on this site, and it seems like they have quite a good thing going compared to just about anywhere else. Why fix something that isn't broke and seems to be working better than ever?

In the meantime, I'd like to ask if we can please finally get $5/$10 $weepscash games?
08-22-2017 , 03:57 PM
You can count me against using bitcoin as a deposit/withdrawal method as well. Last thing we need is the government starting to look into GP because cryptos already get a bad rep.

-1

Btw, for those of you that think BTC is anonymous and you can evade taxes by using BTC on poker sites - think again. BTC is one of the least anonymous currencies in existence and it can catch up to you very easily.

If I were trying to do shady business, I would vote for a crypto asset withdrawal method such as monero - though I am against that as well.

Yes, please!!!! +1 +1 +1 Add $5/$10 $weepscash!!!

They don't need bitcoin. If paypal stops processing for them they'll just take our money and run (good game us).

+1 for Bitcoin (wanted to vote no but how can I)

Disconnects tonight were horrible... I lost a few pots due to the disconnecting of the site.. Hope your tech team is working on this

I mentioned it as well in the Global Lag is out of control thread as I was having the same issues. I didn't lose any pots because of it, but others at the table I was at did.

The main reason to add bitcoin is that there are a bunch of us donks who have existing bitcoin bankrolls and getting that money into Paypal is nontrivial.

I don't think that in and of itself is a good enough reason to add it though. The secondary, non-bitcoin-specific reason - that it's a good idea to have multiple avenues of buying in and cashing out - might be. But BTC does have a lot of downsides for a site that has managed to get Paypal on board. It's not nearly the slam-dunk that it is for the rest of the industry.

Why not just process credit cards?

I am +1 for more than one way to move money to and from this site and every other site for that matter.
08-24-2017 , 09:17 AM
So after several months of break I came back last week and decided to send in a new set of AMOE envelopes because lol free (well, cheap) money. Figured it would take six weeks before they got to it like last time. Instead I got my first payment today. So I guess they got that lag figured out.

So what happens when I'm disconnected as I river a straight in a multiway pot? Clearly I'm never folding but it folded my hand, which would have been a winner in a large pot (relative to the stakes). But instead I just lose all the money I put in the hand and don't get to call because the disconnect times out before I get that option.
