I'm pretty sure that this is not a Global issue but a Windows hiccup; but has anyone else had a problem on Global with their sound dying out and only starting back after a restart?
I'm running windows on a laptop with no external speakers.
It seems to ALWAYS happen while Global is running and randomly happens on other apps.

Can anyone help with a solution other than a restart?

Had it happen to me for the 1st time yesterday. Was running (4) tables and the sound went out on only one.

I've had most of the sound effects shut off...the alerts and the deal sound remain but the chip noise stops. It can be fixed by refreshing the main Global window, which regenerates the child windows.

Are you winning at Global Poker?
Are you good?
Do win at other sites, real or play money?
Do you win live, RNG? Tounies?
Do you have 100 or more post at 2+2?

if you answer yes to all of these please answer. If not, then please don't?
Just looking for truth from someone who does not work for GP.

Hugoism #11 What keeps you from playing as good as you think you are? Not being as good as you think you are.

Yes, so far. Getting crushed at 0.25/0.50 PLO, but I've won two MTTs and done fine at other stakes cash games. I'm at 2.67x my initial deposit. (Edit: just filtered my cash game stats and $0.25/$0.50 PLO 6-max is the only variant I'm losing at, but it's been bad enough that it has negated all my other cash game winnings.)

I am good. Poker is my job: Some Live Tourney Stats

I did pretty good on Bovada before it became Ignition and the cash games basically disappeared. Admittedly, when they made cashing out difficult (I don't have a BitCoin account) I just started max late regging tourneys and basically punting my remaining bankroll. I was down to my last $7.71 and honestly moderately relieved to be done with that site, but I ended up winning the tournament outright. I whiffed yesterday though, which was about 60% of my remaining bankroll.

I am a live cash game player, but I've had great success at the WSOP last two years - and I've taken 1st in three online tourneys this week. I basically treat online poker as training to keep myself sharp in variants that aren't live LHE, which is how I make my living.

No idea how many posts I have on this site, but I'd guess > 100.

I don't work for Global.

But I have referred no less than six players in the last couple days and I haven't even been trying. It would be cool if they set up some sort of referral program or rakeback system because I have a 500+ player pool that would probably be interested in signing up and, uhm, call it greed if you want, but my reach is too large for me to just gift that over to Global with no compensation.

By using Poker Income on my phone.

Are we allowed to play on a different IP from the location we signed up with? I want to start playing while I'm away from home on my phone.

I would bet almost everyone who plays on the site will come from different IPs at different points, as most home internet is DHCP meaning the IP will change from time to time. I don't see why using your phone would cause any flags to go up. With that said, you might want to try playing from your phone on a wifi connection first to see if you like the experience before you try to take it mobile.

I really have no idea what you are asking. Are you looking for total player pool? Are you wanting to know the traffic at a certain time and certain stake? If you are asking overall total numbers for the site, no one here really knows. If the later, then feel free to elaborate and I will try to answer your question

Thanks, awesome post. Guess I just suck at poker. Oh Well, as least I got a coupe new Hugoisms:

Hugoism: In NLH you win just enough of the time to think you're great all of the time.

Hugoism: You're not as good as you think you are, you're as good as your bankroll proves you are.

I have written several of these over the years.

Hugoism #1 Everybody is somebody's fish.

This are lessons learned, and shared for any who care.

TDK what nick do you use on GP? and what time do you play?, I'd like to watch you play NLE and PLO sometime. These are the only two games I play. (for fun now, I've never made money playing poker, reality starting to sink in, just not my game. 8 years at it and still losing, just lose slower now)

DarkKnight17

I don't really have a set time. As I said, I mostly play online for training purposes, so basically whenever I'm home with nothing else going on. I spend most of my time in actual casinos. I guess I play pretty consistently around 12pm-2pm pacific coast time after I do my workout and I'm drinking my daily coffee, browsing online. I've been having some problems driving in traffic lately so I've been playing more online than usual lately, but hopefully that will be changing soon. I actually might try playing on an iPad in the casino tonight, see how that goes.

I was looking for their numbers sort of like what pokerscout offers for other sites, but I don't believe they're listed there. What sites' traffic would you compare it to? I'm in the USA and have been used to the traffic of sites like Bodog/Ignition, WPN, and Chico Network. Would you say it's >,< or = to any of those? I'm most interested in NLH 6-max cash games .10/.25+, but I play some sngs and tournaments as well. Thanks.

As I post this there are 12 full 6max .25/.50 games, and 3 full 9 max games. The $6SNGs run pretty regularly with the higher ones still taking place. I haven't waited longer than 15 mins for a SNG to fill, and have only have to unregister few times. Top traffic times are evenings and weekends as you would expect. The player base for sure has some east coast people but I would say the traffic increases through the evening until probably 1AMEST when it starts to tapper off.

I am not on the other websites so I can't offer any real comparison on those. Hopefully this helps with your question. Feel free to setup an account and check it out for yourself, you don't have to have any money on the site to see the running games.

That's what I'll do. Thanks for taking the time to answer. It's much appreciated.

Is it possible to deposit more than $1000 at a time? Also is it possible to deposit a different amount then the pre set amounts? Looked for an answer a bit and couldn't find.

I'm just wondering in case I happen to be at Starbucks one day and decided to play using their Wi-Fi

Its a nit picky thing, but Global will tell you that you are not depositing, you are purchasing Gold Coins, and then you get a bonus of $weeps Cash, that can then be exchanged for USD on Paypal.

With the legalize out of the way, yeah the biggest Gold Coin package you can purchase is $1000

I would hope their software does look at what IP you are playing from, but other factors should be considered as well. With that said, I have a static IP because of my business and I VPN back into that connection when playing elsewhere so I really can't speak to what happens when your IP changes.
