Sharkscope showing buy-in loss for Madness, but I got in through satellites? Sharkscope showing buy-in loss for Madness, but I got in through satellites?

So, in my Sharkscope, my results for the Madness tournament is showing a $550 loss, but I go into the tournament through the satellites.

Is this normal, or will some editing on Sharkscope's end need to be done?

The main problem with this is not that you played the $540 - it’s that the satellite win was not properly recognized by SS

From my personal experience, if you win a satellite, SS recognizes it as a “loss” (since you didn’t actually win money).

You then go and play the main tournament, which (if you don’t cash) SS also recognizes as a loss.

SS does not recognize satellite wins properly (at least for GP). I wouldn’t hold your breath waiting for them to change it

I seen sat entries counted in multiple different ways on SS. I am not sure if the method used to calculate win / loss ration is site dependent or if it depends on if the game itself is an auto register vs one you have to manually register for. I do know it is inconsistent.

What I noticed :

1. Lets say you win a $11 sat from $1 buy in. SS will count + $10 like any other game but then if you loose the targeted game the sat ticket was used for then it will show - $11 for the targeted game.

2. The first sat you won doesn't even register as a game. So in the above $1 sat win to get into a $11 buy in targeted game .. SS will only register the $11 tournament and neglect the $1 sat to it. Thus recording that you bought in for $11 and base the outcome on that.

This is so ridiculous because I have this massive $550 loss. Yet, I won a bunch in satellite tickets, and none of those show up.

Is there any database or record that GP keeps of all the past tournaments that have been played? And we can report those to Sharkscope?

Your best bet would have been to screenshot the tournament lobby, which included the tournament ID number (I’m kinda pulling that out of my ass, as I’m not exactly sure if that would help or not)

You can take solace in the fact that you didn’t actually lose that money, even if sharkscope said you did Sharkscope showing buy-in loss for Madness, but I got in through satellites?

Also take solace in the fact that anyone looking you up via SS is getting incorrect information !

This was my thoughts as well. Seems like a good potential edge. They label you a loosing reg and out of no where you crush souls!

Yeah, this seems like a good "problem" to have. Only good reason I can see to care about SS getting it right is if you're seeking staking/selling shares.

What about for tax purposes? A certain player might hypothetically have sharkscope and sharkscope alone for an (approximate) detailing of his results, and inaccurate results could change his tax burden. I'm not talking about me, of course, I'm talking about my buddy.

No, inaccurate results don't change your tax burden.

However, if one were looking to cheat on their taxes, that would be yet another benefit to SS under-reporting your profits.
