Just curious if buying gold coins with a credit card is ok and I won't get screwed by interest rates?

I did not get any interest rate using cc. There will be foreign transaction fees if your cc does not exclude foreign transaction. I think it is about 3%.

No, you are purchasing a product so the process is the same as purchasing a product from any other merchant.
