In case anyone missed this is the email from Global. I think it's pretty cool as I love Crazy Pineapple and Limit Holdem. Hopefully, this will go well and get some more variety on a more regular basis.

Here's the info from the email...

We know everybody has a guilty pleasure, reality TV, unhealthy food etc. We also know poker players are no different so we are here to help. Every weekday at 4PM ET you can find something slightly different from the usual schedule.

Monday - No Limit Crazy Pineapple [6-Max, Turbo]
Tuesday - Fixed Limit Hold'em [6-Max, Turbo]
Wednesday - No Limit Hold'em [4-Max, Turbo]
Thursday - No Limit Hold'em [Ante Up, Turbo]
Friday - Pot Limit Omaha [4-Max, Turbo]

And of course they are all short stacked turbos. They know how to take the fun out of everything. You get your guilty pleasure tournament once a week and it's not even worth playing. Also, FYI they used to have 2 regular pineapple tournaments a day that had a loyal following and always met the guarantee. Also had a FL every day that most times met the guarantee.

Are these games already playing? Can you give more info on the shortstack? I didn't see anything about stakes or max buy in amount. Shortstack is probably a deal breaker for me, except in limit. Bummer though. I was excited to play some new games.

Yes they are running. I have ignored them after I played once but unless they changed the format it was the standard 3k stack with early antes and 5 min blinds. A total crap shoot that for most players is over before the first break. Churn them and burn them and get the player on to the next rake. The Global business model. As I said they gave up the rake on 30-50 pineapple players that played every single day, twice a day. It is hard to understand this company.

Oh, ok. I thought they were ring games. Double bummer

They used to have cash game pineapple too. They ended that with little reason and zero explanation as well.

Why do you still play on global if it’s so bad? I’m not being sarcastic at all it’s a genuine question. If they are doing such a bad job why play?

Cash games, and a couple of the "deep" stack tournaments. Plus the fact that there is no where good to play in the US. Are you the kind of guy who just accepts whatever a corporation does and never complains? No matter how bad it gets you just shrug? Like the kind of guy that is not outraged that banks who break the law over and over again get a slap on the wrist and are still in business? Genuine question.

If I don’t like things a company is doing I go elsewhere. It’s easier to go somewhere I like rather then stay and complain.

As a US player who likes fast cashouts and does not believe anonymous poker is real poker where would you suggest I take my business? I call all my elected politicians at least once a year asking why they are beholden to Shelden Adelson instead of we the people but they do not seem to know what I am talking about.
Do you think if enough people here complain/point out the same things they might just change things? Do you think Steve Lyons is even aware of some of the silly things that goes on at his company? Early antes in PLO were complained about here and they got rid of them. Like magic. You see it as "complaining" where I am hoping Steve might say to himself. "Yeah why did we get rid of 2 tournaments a day that had a loyal following?"

Everyone wants mixed cash. Limit HE, O8, 7-card-stud, deep NLHE. Never bring back crazy pineapple lol.

Everyone has their favorite ice cream flavor and everyone has their favorite game. The point is for at least 18 months, twice a day, pineapple was able to meet a guarantee and had a very loyal following. The tournaments did run long so the only thing I can think of is that Global thought the players would play turbos and they could make more rake. I doubt that though because many of the players did not play anything but pineapple. I hope they bring all the games you are looking for.

In light of the information in the other threads I thought of another reason why they got rid of pineapple. The majority of the player pool was playing with envelope money. That is one explanation that is actually logical from a business standpoint. So much more is making sense now. How to run a business where there are so few are paying customers and the freeloaders always have their hand out? Quite the challenge.

I like the Ante NLH games, maybe they can start short deck too ? Doesn't seem too hard to implement.

Easiest money you can make besides free envelope money. Every player plays every hand because of the extra card. I am slow and did not know why before. Everything making more sense now. We all know why fake chips poker is not real poker. For a real poker game people need to risk something. Now we know that who knows, half the player pool is risking nothing?
