Charged with massive deposit fees Charged with massive deposit fees

07-03-2018 , 08:10 PM
Hello I recent deposited on global and upon checking my bankstatement I was charged close to $500 in fees for my deposits. There was no prior warning and it never happened before the worldpay switch. I'm basically furious with GP at this point. I use Bank of America. Has anyone else ran into this issue?

I've used capital one since the beginning of GP and other sites and at the end of the year they have a $ amount that I saved from foreign transaction fees and its quite a lot. I then pay off my purchases with checking whilst receiving rewards on my purchases.

WTF?!? Are there undisclosed deposit/withdraw fees w/ world play? Sorry to hear that man-anybody else experiencing this?

I made a $10 deposit on GP using my BoA debit card after WorldPay was instated just to see if it worked and it was approved and I havent been charged ANY fees. Not sure what happened with you.

I got charged $15 foreign transaction fee for making 1 deposit with boa debit card. Check before depositing if your cc/debit card charges for this. If none of your current ones are free just get a new credit card that doesn’t have fees for this.

This is your bank / card charging these fee's not global.

I cashed out via world pay and the money went into my Bank (Union Bank) and there was no fee's at all. The full amount of the cash out was deposited.

Shouldn't this also be in the cash out verification thread?

OP is talking about deposits not cashouts

Anyone tried a deposit with a Wells Fargo debit card yet?

My bank's website (Wells Fargo) says that a 3% fee applies to foreign transactions. I would have to deposit $16,667 to rack up a $500 fee.

JFC I'm expecting a $17k deposit into my WF account (approved 6/27). I guess it's better than the alternative but this is just getting worse and worse. How the **** did Global not have other alternatives to paypal already in place as a contingency?

Once they offer legitimate alternatives to deposit/w.d. other than worldpay, I think Global will make a comeback. But for the next few months, this site is going to die a slow death.

I made 3 1k deposits 4 days ago and had no fees at all.

Like the other posters, I assume the problem is with your bank. I won't say my bank because you're apparently not supposed to say which bank you use in these type of threads, but you can PM me if curious.

Why would names matter isn't GP "LEGAL"

Hi guys,

This is the first I have heard of anyone being charged any fees for making purchases.

OP - if you want to email support with a screenshot showing the fees and notes they can look at it for you but we do not charge any fees and I am not sure how you would amass such a number.

Thanks

Bank names matter as evidenced by warning posted in Thread title. https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/2...nk-names-1553/

I deposited with a cha se credit card and had no fees.

So I looked into it. It's Visa charging me the fees a flat 3% (I depo'd 17k as I was on a 44buyin downer and I don't want to hear **** from anyone).

I emailed global support their response was basically along the lines of not our problem. I'm going to call Visa today.

Same, got the fees charged to my bank as well - about $15 total.
07-06-2018 , 05:17 PM
it is the BANK charging you fees and not global's doing, correct?

No it's Visa. but still GP is a US site using foreign processors without any disclaimer. that's kind of ****ed up. Had to deposit another 5k and got another fee of $150. I'm going to change my debit card to one without fees for foreign transactions. I think that will solve this problem. But in the meantime I do think GP is partially responsible. I had made over 40k of deposits through paypal without fees so I basically got completely ambushed and they are taking 0 responsibility. Support had no interest in entertaining the notion that it was their problem.
