Charged with massive deposit fees Charged with massive deposit fees

I looked around and there is credit cards that don't charge a foreign transaction fee. So the smart thing to do is get one of those cards. But it also means they have other type charges. Maybe its a yearly charge for owning the card or they have more charges for other ways of doing transactions. the first i would make sure of is there is not a yearly charge for owning the card before you get it. It doesn''t sound like global is going to refund back. There advice was to talk to a banker about crediting back. They won't do that. So get a credit card with no foreign transaction fee and no yearly fee for holding the card. I only see capital one that doesn't charge that fee so my guess is thats the card to use and hopefully your not charged.

So my friend wanted to try out global and I said there is probably a foreign transaction fee and to use a card that doesn't charge for it. So he did a deposit with no foreign transaction fee card and still got the fee and chewed me out good. So i look on world pay and find the actual pricing. It is NOT the bank charging fees its world pay. Its a 2.75% fee plus 20 cents for the transaction. Thats their flat fee. So once again global poker lies about how we are charged fees. Its actually a charge by world pay not your bank. It doesn't matter what card you use. I think its best to contact world pay directly if you guys want to do deposits on global poker and find out exactly what your being charged. This is ridiculous that they would lie and say your bank is charging you. They don't want to be responsible for the fee. When its clear on this link its world pay thats charging you guys for deposits. Thats the proof on that link. So what I said before is wrong. Don't bother getting a credit card that doesn't charge for foreign transactions. Your still getting a the fee from world pay their processor.

So I looked more into this. So this is what is going on global uses World Pay to do transactions. Those are the fees that World Pay charges global to use their services per transaction. That the merchant costs per transaction to use world pay. So if you guys ever made a business and wanted to do transactions with credit and debit you would use whatever like world pay and pay those fees to do transactions with customers. Customers doing deposits should not have a fee.

No, it's definitely an international processing fee -- not from Worldpay but from the banks.

Question is still why is a supposedly "legal" site processing payments offshore that are going to cost their customers an extra 2-3%?

Well if your not paying fees then it can't be on globals end. I will try a small deposit and see for myself. I know my card waves the international fee.

I think it has to do with the sweeps cash model. Your not using your card to buy cash your using it to buy sweeps model coins. I would not recommend putting to much money on. Its very grey area i heard some people say its perfectly legal and others tell me its not. But they are still up and running so its probably fine. Just make sure you guys pay your taxes on your profits. Even in sweeps model you owe taxes. They should allow p2p transfers so people that don't get charged can just do transfers for other players.
