For PLO cash, not really maybe one person. Idk about NLH.

I'm just all for any game types that will bring more players into the cash game streets. Games are getting a bit static. Most recs get intimidated when they look at a certain stake and see the same 3-4 people sitting at every single table.

20bb games may get them more willing to get their feet wet, maybe splash around deeper once they run up some stacks.

Or even better, they could add 5 card PLO.

Nope. It wouldn't be an issue. I don't even see any regs shortstack PLO. 20bb games would be great for the stie and allow HS to run despite the deposit limits.

I don't think you know what exponentially means chief.

For postflop spots, there is generally at most one more bet that occurs in the game tree at 100bbs versus 20bbs. 20bb-50bb play requires players to fight for small pots as they make up a larger % of the stack, and the classic nitreg strategy of trying to make great hands when a fish make good hands just doesn't work short. But considering how you use the word exponentially, that concept might be hard for the nit 100bb regs to understand.

I don't understand why a poker site that is trying to be as "rec friendly" as possible doesn't either have PLO5 or a 20BB buy-in at PLO10.

Mediocre regs who think they're better than they are typically hate shortstackers. Most shortstackers are awful, but these mediocre regs who think they're good players don't know how to exploit the shortstackers.

Shortstackers who actually know how to correctly play a shortstack are few and far between.

I just think 20bb is a great action game and there were more/better games during that time period compared to right now which seems quite dead.. maybe they will bring them back eventually and realize both games can exist within the same ecosystem eps with how dead the site has been recently

Likely the site runs with fewer customers during the height of the Summer, after the lockdowns are mostly lifted as well. If 20bb tables are hugely popular that would be good, but a lot of the action earlier in 2021 that has dried up lately was stimulus bucks to be sure.

Also, the PLO8 tables are great for rake (very bad rake) and have taken a lot of the action out of Holdem and PLO, imho.

Yes, please bring back the 20 big blind buy-in to all cash games. Personally, I will play a lot more and love to gamble at the higher stakes with small buy in. Get it done, thanks!!!

Even if an "expert" shortstacker could be slightly +EV, it is largely irrevelant because the vast majority of shortstackers are awful.

Back in the olden days before seven-deck shoes and the like, a half-decent card counter could turn a profit playing blackjack. Even so, the vast majority of blackjack players lost money. The vast majority of gamblers and poker players are too lazy to learn how to beat whatever game they're playing.

I read about an American casino that added a European-style single-zero roulette table or two. Turned out that the European wheel didn't get significantly more player traffic than the double-zero American wheel.

How about….20bb-100bb tables, with like an 8 hour no rathole clock.

That way, people can run it up, and still play deeper. Especially with PLO, people that are afraid of variance, like to start off small and spin it up.

You wouldn’t have a table full of shortstackers as the night goes on.
