This is to stop excessive bumhunting where people sit at like 5 tables and wait for the fish to come join one. it increases the probability that the fish joins their table. It has become an issue with a couple players doing this on global.
Any plans to put something like this into place?
Huge +1. Though given that they haven't fixed some very minor bugs, i think there's almost no shot that this will happen. Though it's a great idea and much needed.

Hit and runs don't have any effect on winrate. If you have a positive winrate vs a player, you have that expectation for every hand that you play, regardless of them leaving after winning. Being annoyed at getting HNR is really just a mental hurdle to get over (I know because i used to be the worst at this). It's just being results oriented in a different way. So if you think you're a favorite vs a player, don't sit out for fear of being HNR.
Now, sitting out due to the insanely high hu rake is a perfectly reasonable thing to do if you if you're just trying to get a 6m table started. However at 10/20 you have guys like obvocado , theoldserpent, basedchad, ermergedpoker and others i'm forgetting who stay seated (but sit out) in 6m games where there isn't a rec. Lately obvocado has been the worst offender where he'll open up 3-5 empy tables and sit with 30bb at each, but won't play in games that are actually running. (without a rec). He's not trying to get a 6m game started; he's trying to bumhunt. It's also problematic when a bunch of people are targeting one player to the point where they'll all join every open table at 10/20 (sometimes even taking the last seat at a table) and sit out at all of them without playing a hand, so that the player they are chasing can't sit at a table where they aren't seated.
In light of the last bit, what if we use this thread to call people out for this sort of behavior so that Global can potentially take action vs these repeat offenders? I think there's more potential in that happening than global being able to implement any sort of sophisticated measures that are built into the software.
