Alright, so this is the second time my account has been inexplicably frozen. The first time they reinstated my account and there was no reason given for why it happened in the first place.

Context: I play global on my phone sporadically at 50NL. My guess is I might average like 2000 hands a week. I’m also a winning player and withdraw money once in a while. I recently cashed out $500 dollars to my savings account which actually went through just fine. A few days later, account banned.

I have been playing poker for such a long time and this is now a hobby/side hustle for me as I have a full time job. If anyone is playing on global, trust me, be very cautious as you could lose your money overnight with no explanation.

If global can still help me, that would be great but I have almost zero hope. Here are the interactions:

My response:

Hello,

I am sorry that my bank has provided some kind of chargeback. I’m not sure what this means or why it happened. The last thing I did was withdraw 510 dollars to my bank account.

I would be happy to pay for any charges my bank has tried to charge you. I am also willing to get a different bank account so that this problem doesn’t arise in the future.

I have been playing on global for a while as a fun outlet. I have been a good citizen of the site and respect it’s value and culture. Let me know how we can resolve this issue quickly.

Their response :

Hi,

Your account has been carefully reviewed, and after a thorough investigation, the decision to keep your account closed is deemed final.

It is with regret that we are obliged to part ways with you. If you decide to create another account and play, these succeeding account(s) will be deactivated as well and will not be honored for prize redemption.

We wish you well in all your future gameplay endeavors and thank you for your time with us.
Best regards,

Ron

I have responded again hoping to get an explanation on what I could have done. Please be cautious of this site as I promise you I haven’t done anything wrong, but play casually.

my username is bantam24, I like to play heads up. I’m outraged, but what can I do. I had over over 500-1000 in my account still.

Yeah so it was stated that my connected bank account had some kind of issue “chargeback or return”, etc. I withdrew money and it appeared successful in my account. So I have no clue what went wrong nor is it under my control. Withdrawals were made previously with no issue. I wanted a more detailed explanation as to what went wrong and offered to take any necessary steps to fix the issue.

There response was to steal the remaining balance in my account and say **** it. It’s a scam. What could I have done differently?

I think they mean your poker account is linked to another account. I don’t see where they say your “bank account”. Are you leaving some emails out?
10-09-2022 , 10:12 PM
The chargeback component is saying you deposited at some point and your credit card/bank reversed the charge. Your withdrawal has nothing to do with it, did you have any situations like that during deposits?

They're also saying your account is in some way connected to another account that was banned. You haven't said anything around that.

Your emails are from two days ago, if you're expecting this to get resolved in days and not weeks, you're gonna be disappointed.

If you didn't reverse a charge on a deposit to the site, and you didn't do anything suspicious with another account that had since been banned, you will probably be made whole. As a gambler, I would offer 10:1 that Global didn't just arbitrarily pick a 50NL player to randomly rob for $1,000

No left out emails.

I definitely don’t have a second global account. So the only conclusion I made was that the “other account” was my bank account.

Yep this was my thought process too. I have only made one deposit back in 2019 to start my account. I have never deposited anything thereafter. I have only made withdrawals.

I have zero connection to another global account. I haven’t tried any funny business and I only have my one account created back in 2019.

I agree that global prob didn’t arbitrarily pick new out. But there last email response made it sound like they won’t try to explain or hear me out, and that they would just pulling the plug.

I appreciate the responses. I will try to stay optimistic and see if it gets resolved.

The other context here… my employer was cyber attacked and leaked out my SS and my bank account # in august. This bank account is not the one I use for global though. It’s been a hellish nightmare trying to go through credit freezes and the works. I need to see how I deposited my original $ in 2019. I thought it was very unlikely connected to this account, but can’t say for-sure it isn’t somehow connected.

Problem resolved!

I am thankful that global has reached out and resolved the issue. I’m unsure of exactly what caused the ban but it was the same thing that triggered the first one. So while it didn’t look good given the initial emails, I will give global credit for fixing the issue. Account banned - please beware!!

Sounds like you shared an IP address or computer with someone who was banned(for chargebacks?). They unbanned you so it probably was not your fault. Maybe a shared mobile IP or something
10-11-2022 , 09:26 PM
This is possible. I always play on my phone and many times could be connecting through my cell phone provider. Not exactly sure how IP addresses are allocated on mobile as you change locations, etc

Yeah, phone IPs get recycled a lot.

I just received a similar email that my account is connected to another account. I have no clue what they are talking about. No one in my household plays poker and this is the only global account I’ve ever had. My bank hasn’t had any weird fees or chargebacks. I wrote them back and I’m waiting for a response. My account is still open….really odd

Problem was resolved. Something on their end is incorrectly flagging accounts. I’m not sure if it’s my cell service connecting me to other accounts? I don’t know what their process is because they don’t explain it

I frequently switch from my desktop to mobile & vice-versa depending on what I'm doing, hearing this makes me now weary.

Clearly they use very unsophisticated methods to flag acccounts and then you just have to get lucky and get the right person to get it reversed, which won't always happen.
