2 players in the same house? 2 players in the same house?

I was looking to get a housemate into poker, and he wanted to play some on Global Poker. The problem is, we share the same IP so I wanted to make sure my account wouldn't get shut down if we log in or something. We tested joining gold coin tables together and I was not allowed to join his table which makes sense.

However, he just registered for the same freeroll tournament tonight that I registered for, as he wants to try a tournament, but I was concerned about getting my account shut down with this.

Can someone or a rep clarify the rules here or let me know what I can do? I am not trying to collude or cheat at all, and am posting here to make sure I get any sort of approval or disapproval ahead of time to avoid trouble.

Thanks!

Update: for now we decided to play different tournaments just in case, but I'd still love to know for the future

Email Support, ask to be referred to the Game Integrity Manager. He’ll recommend what to do, but at least will ensure that it’s noted on your accounts that you play from same location.

I'll be watching this thread closely since I am planning on starting a Grind House.

No. Not even that. What if they end up at the final table together?

That's correct. I received an email from customer service regarding this and they said as long as you are not on the same table it is fine. Why risk playing in a tournament when you could end up on the same table.

For an update on this- support emailed me back and told me that we could play in the same tournaments, just not cash games or sit n gos. They first responded

"- you do not play on the same table/tournament at the same time
- you can provide your own identification documents
- you will use your own personal accounts for making transactions with Global Poker"

and this was reasonable. I asked to talk to the Game Integrity Manager as mentioned in this thread and was still curious what happens at the same table of a tournament. I figured it could be risky, but also I have written permission via support through email for this, I just don't know if it's worth risking or not but I'll attach their final response here.

'...we have received an update from our team; please note that it is in our policy not to allow players in the same household to play in the same table. This means you are not able to play on the same ring game or Sit-nG- table with each other. However, you can still register and play to the same multi-table tournaments."

So it's a bit unclear, but I did get permission for same multi-table, which also makes sense because a lot of players will live/play together in the same house and to draw the line at any MTT is drawing the line for a lot of potential play, whereas cash games and sit n go's don't really need that kind of flexibility for the potential cheating.

Hope that helps!
