Hi everyone

I'm not sure where to introduce myself, but am new to the 2p2 forums. I've been playing poker (recreationally) both live and online
for the past couple of years. I recently found out about global poker from a twitch streamer, and decided to take a look.
When I made my account I noticed that they had a freeroll which granted some entries to their 'Sunday Scrimmage' tournament on Sep2 that was worth $218.
I decided to give it a shot, and ran well enough to earn a ticket! My plan was to try and place in 23/24 place so I could have a starting BR to grind up, but that proved to be too risky and virtually impossible. I am by no means an MTT player, but I would like to try and prepare so that I can at least min cash and have a BR to grind up without depositing.
Some questions I have:
1) Is it possible to sell/trade my ticket? I would much rather have, say $150 than the $218 ticket, but I doubt that this is possible.
2) If for some reason I am unable to cash, is there any way (through freerolls) to build a starting BR? I would prefer not to deposit, if possible.
3) Does this freeroll I played occur regularly?
4) Can anyone point me to some good books to prepare for this tournament? I am mostly a cash game player.

In the event that I either am able to cash the tournament, or generate a BR some otherway, I may stream my journey on Twitch. With that said, I hope global poker supports (somehow) the twitch streamers who play on their site because it is free advertising for them (and how I found out about it). The streamer I watched had a sizable amount of money on the site, which provided me with some amount of trust in this site. I can provide their information if they aren't already being compensated in some way, since I feel that they should be.
Currently my BR is on another online site, not sure how easy it would be to transfer a small portion of it to global poker.
Thanks everyone reading for your time,
:-D

Not going to be able to transfer the ticket or sell it. Just gonna have to play and hope to cash tourney if you don’t wanna deposit.

Gl with ur challenge. Ran my $20 Deposit last Sept into 4K in 6 weeks starting at 4nl and working my way up. Cashed it’s out for a live roll. Just deposited $50 couple weeks ago and running it up again. Running a min ($50)withdrawal currently to get documents submitted and check out the current timeline.

I would suggest grinding cash rather than mtts on global. MTT schedule isn’t gonna be enough to really build. Cash games are as soft as your going to find anywhere right now. Start with $50 and 4nl and try to work your way up.

Decide how much you want before moving up levels. You will quickly find re-occurring situations that give you trouble and know what you need to study and work on.

Best of luck

I suggest starting with $500 at least.

The tournament has 15 minute levels, after the first hour, which is as slow as Global goes, but is not slow by mtt standards.

You really don’t need a book. When your stack gets small relative to the blinds, pick a hand and shove. This overly simple way to play is closer to optimal than you will manage by trying to exert your skill (you are below average skill).

Good luck, don’t sweat, have fun.

1) Unfortunately you can't sell your ticket.
2) They do have someeee freerolls occasionally so just be on the lookout for those.
3) Freerolls are rare due to the structure of the site and how it has to work around all the loopholes in the law, but they do happen probably around once per month. There are continuous freerolls for the gold coin stuff, but I'm sure that doesn't particularly interest you.
4) Honestly if this is like a one shot tournament for you, just play tight at the start and looser as you get short and hope for the best runouts you can get. There's an insane amount of luck that goes into tournaments.

Global doesn't really help out the streamers besides an occasional post on twitter or facebook, but no kind of monetary compensation or increased rakeback like other sites (ACR, any EU site), which is unfortunate. I'm presuming it was likely Tizull as he's the only GP streamer who publishes his bankroll, he's a super good guy. You shouldn't have issues just taking money from your other site and depositing the same amount onto global I would think?

@TeamJosh Impressive! Yeah, I plan on mostly playing cash, as that is where I'm most comfortable. Hopefully see you at the tables soon
@Schwifty LOL, well my primary goal is not to run it up on GP, but rather build a roll without depositing. I have money on other sites I can move to GP, but would prefer not to if possible Also, thanks for your response and positivity
@Golden Awesome! Thanks for your response, and time. Answers all of the questions I had. I figured that was the case for the freerolls, because I could not find any really. I didn't even think about it being connected to their loophole stuff. So I have money on most of the other sites, (ACR,Ignition, BOL, etc), but I'm not sure the easiest way to transfer some money on to GP since it appears they don't have crypto options. Any suggestions regarding this?
As for who the streamer was, it was https://www.twitch.tv/idraftthebeatz. As far as I can tell, they don't stream too much as of lately. They also don't have many posts on 2p2 as far as I can tell, and I'm not even sure if they endorse GP after reading their posts. I am not familiar with the streamer you mentioned, but will takek a look.

Also, if there is a GP rep reading this, I would strongly encourage you to support the streamers who play on your site. Perhaps the community could come together and push for this, as as I think it will be beneficial for everyone invovled.
