What are the odds? What are the odds?

02-27-2020 , 12:25 AM
I was was in a 6-max game on ACR with 3 players seeing a flop. The flop came K-10-4s

Player 1: Nut Flush
Player 2: Set
Player 3: Set

Can someone tell me the odds please?

I understand the odds of a set is about 1:9 and set over set is about 1:98 and flopping a flush is 1:122, but A) the nut Ax flush must be rarer, and B) I cant figure the odds of all three happening at once.

Can anyone help please?

TIA

You have to first determine what you are taking as "given".

Q1) Given a monotone flop, what are the odds of:

- nut flush
- set
- set

in a 6-max game?

Q2) Given that somebody holds Ax of spades (say), and two other people have pocket pairs (say YY and ZZ, no spades), what are the odds of a flop of WYZ all spades?

Of course, these are related but different questions with different answers.

Which of these are you asking?

Why don't you take a crack at answering it?

These probability questions are fairly straightforward if you know what you are doing. And, in my opinion, these threads have very little value or interest if someone simply posts an answer (1 in 250,000, with or without the derivation) and that's the end of it.
